Where you read: "Important Notice: UPS security measures require customers originating shipments from UPS Customer Centers to present two valid, officially recognised forms of ID, and to present packages open when shipping." :(

I wonder if they enforce those rules?

I take my ID with me when i drop off my parcels, but so far they have never asked to see it.
Any advice I give on these forums is my own opinion only, and is what I would do in your situation or, what I have done in the past, please do not slate me for offering what I see as "sound" advice.
    Thanks

Does anyone know about Collect+ dimensions , i have a parcel that is 64x14x48 and 6kg, they allow parcels of 30x30x50 up to 10kg , using the volumetric method my parcel comes in at 43008 which is under there 45000 , does anyone know if they use this method would it be safe to send without penalty ?
  • I've sent parcels that are oversize with them before and they haven't pulled me up on it, but that really is quite oversize. The reason those restrictions are there is shopkeepers have limited storage space.

I arranged a laptop to be collected through parcel2go on Fri 16th March and paid £19.53 by PayPal including insurance for TNT service.

TNT failed to collect the laptop and when I rang Parcel2Go they said that I hadn't paid for the collection, even though I had PayPal's confirmation. When I produced the proof, I was told to email "refunds@parcel2go.com".

I rebooked the collection with Parcel2Go using my credit card for a different transaction and the laptop was collected on 19th March and delivered on 20th. Again I paid £19.53. I have paid twice for the same delivery.

Emails to Parcel2Go remain unanswered, the email address and phone number PayPal have for Parcel2Go is incorrect and PayPal themselves refuse to help because "it is a service I have paid for, not goods" - even though it is quite possible that this is fraud and that the funds intended for Parcel2Go are being "phished".

You cannot contact Parcel2Go at all. If you get Customer Services on their high rate 0870 number, you get someone in a call centre who is not empowered to make any decisions (in fact, they don't even work for Parcel2Go, they work for a call centre handling Parcel2Go enquiries).

I am referring this matter to Consumer Direct so please heed the warning!

Further to the above, Parcel2Go have now finally made contact and refunded my credit card, even though it was my PayPal account that had funds extracted from it and for which the collection failed and I was charged for using my credit card!

I have a nasty feeling about Parcel2Go - something smells rotten - and I would strongly advise anyone against using them. Find an alternative, one that doesn't have reams and reams of bad experiences dotted all over the internet!

No courier can be trusted to handle things carefully it depends on the mood of the person delivering the parcel and what else is stacked in the van with your parcel and both of those varies from day to day. You MUST pack so it can be handled roughly and survive. If you can drop your packet from carrying height onto a concrete floor and it survives that should be a very minimum. Fragile labels will not help - only good packing will do it.

That sounds very frustrating, but P2Go have given me the best customer service I've had in years. Immediate responses, advice and action. Even on a Sunday evening. The secret is to use their Facebook page, twitter, or live help on their website. Lots of others post thanks for problems resolved that route, so it's worth a try.

You could try asking your credit card company to intervene, as it's (sort of) double charging. Easier with a debit card when the sum is under £100 though.
