Hey folks, looks like thepackagedeliverycompany has gone under. Hope no-one was burned in the process.

I warned 6 months ago about these because DHL informed me they were a fraudulent company, hopefully they've been found out by the authorities now.

Another fly by nighter will start up next week no doubt. It could even be the same guy behind parcel bee, packagedeliveryco etc...and will just open with a new name.

Thankfully posts and threads like this keep finding them out :)

How do you know they've gone under please?

ParcelBee and thepackagedeliverycompany had different directors and different registered addresses; what makes you think they're the same person?

ETA: Companies House confirm that The Parcel Delivery Company Ltd was struck off and dissolved on 25 Feb. Mr Richard York is also a director od TPDC Ltd, which appears to be still active, hmmm. Same (virtual office) registered address and incorporated 28/11/2011.

  • Hi

    Thanks Kayster for the info.
  • Hi

Am I correct in assuming that bulky items that weigh less than 1kg can't be sent for under £3.15?

I have checked the Post Office Site, Collect+, P2Gand My Hermes.

    Thanks

    What size?
Any advice I give on these forums is my own opinion only, and is what I would do in your situation or, what I have done in the past, please do not slate me for offering what I see as "sound" advice.

They vary, for eg I had a book yesterday that I had to send (sold on Amazon) and it was 3cm deep which meant the minimum postage with the PO was 3.15 2nd class. Amazon charge £2.80 for postage, left me a bit out of pocket.

    Thanks

If it's longer than 90cm then it would have to go standard parcels, at £4.41 (and shortly to go up).

i wondered if any one could help and advise me on the following

if i wanted to send a parcel to Northern Ireland from the UK, but i wanted an away collection i.e not from my registered Despatchbay collection address....

would despatchbay charge me, on top of the £8.54 standard price, the £2.95 away collection surcharge and if there was only 1 parcel to be collected would they also charge me £1.95 the less than 4 parcels collection surcharge?

therefore total price would be £8.54 +2.95+1.95 + vat

any ideas and help on this please, i would approach them but they are off today

    best

Why don't you use the ParcelForce £5.65 service? I believe there's no away collection charge. There is the £1.95 collection surcharge for less than 4 parcels though (although it has been known to be waived... ;)).
