Also. As has happened with a number of the smaller resellers. If the reseller goes bust, or has serious liabilities to the carrier, the carrier can impound YOUR parcels until the reseller has cleared the debt.

This was an issue with a number of companies that had parcel accounts and were using them as reselller accounts without appropriate authority from the carrier.

That's really concerning! Can you tell me where that story was published, surely that's not legal!!

That's the point. It is totally legal because DHL/UPS/TNT/Interlink/Parcelforce etc have no contract with YOU! They have the right to impound their "customers" items if accounts are unpaid, their customer is the reseller and that's normal standard commercial terms & conditions.

It was parcelforce about 2 years back. The resellers in question were small companies, selling off their own parcelforce accounts. Parcelforce were getting stung bigtime by this and hence now only re-sell through a very small number of partners (which will probably get even smaller now that their re-sellers seem to be re-selling too!).

Hence why my first place to go on any new parcel website is the T&C to see who i'm dealing with, if they ain't prepared to tell me, I ain't dealing with them.

And if you look at FAQ, claims for expensive items need to be made within 3 days of date of despatch - that looks like the ultimate never pay out small print. (Picked up Friday, delivered broken on Monday - Sorry! too late!)

Thats still better than parcelmonkey though! Last time, FedEx said I could sue LCPD if I wanted as they offered a service but did not provide. Instead my parcel was sat in Bristol, when I sent it to within Yorkshire lol

When i sent by FedEx LCPD owed a lot to them, and thats when they said I could sue if I wished to, but seeing as though I got my money back, it wasnt worth a court appearance

Have just booked an item with Parcelsplease for the first time. As much as its not the best bit of web design in the world it was simple to get a quote. Especially in comparison to other sites.

The problem I have a lot with getting quotes is they don't always make it easy to get a quote for Highlands and islands at least this site just asked for postcodes which made it easier. The prices are comparable to others. They weren't the cheapest but only by a few pence (other than my hermes and after the horror of them no way)

Will tell you how it goes. I have quite a few parcels to send over the next few weeks so have been trying alternatives to Parcelforce so want to find a couple of good couriers I can rely on.

    Quoting myself how tragic

Today booked my second parcel with them £7.99 inc VAT from a Scottish island to mainland UK (7 kilo item). £12 per kilo standard insurance. Picking it up tomorrow so will tell you how it goes. 1st one had no problems

Online booking is easy and they take paypal which is good for ebay sales.

I havent ordered with them but whenever I call, they answer in less than a few seconds and are always REALLY helpful, prices arent the cheapest but they do seem to look and sound more professional!

    hey guys

I want to try out parcelbee, their email support is very fast and they just seem to cheap to be true. I mean 48 hour delivery to finland for 12.99, the best quote i got to match that is almost double that!

Are they the real deal, can they be trusted or will my items just get lost?

    Any help guys!!

    Thanks!

  • Can any suggest a courier I can use to post a pram.

It's quite a large pram, so will prob need sending via 3 parcels (large heavy chasis, carry cot and pram seat).

I am having a nightmare trying to find someone who will delivery it, without spending a fortune (DHL wanted around £50).

    The approx weights are:
    7.6kg
    6.8kg
    10kg

    and all approx 90cm long.

    Zippy x

    Thanks to whoever quoted parcelbee.

Used their European service £13.99 by far undercut everyone else. UPS turned up on the right day, parcel trackably overseas on its way to the destination.

Am happy to give a new business a go - we all start somewhere, and often new businesses try harder to establish their reputation.

Unlike PARCELMONKEY who SUCK. Still waiting for a refund for a failed collection over a week on...
