To be fair, it might not be Parcel Monkeys fault. It could be down to your local DHL depot or even a single driver. I use Parcel Monkey regularly for UK and international deliveries (have done for over a year) and have only ever had one problem which turned out to be City Links fault but PM sorted it out very quickly. Personally I wouldn't use anyone else.

This is true, although they are not necessarily very quick to act on problems. I have a missing parcel, collected on the 6th Dec, that PM haven't even managed to get City-Link to confirm is definitely "lost" yet! The joys of putting an intermediary between yourself and the courier firm. I did also have a couple of failed collections in the run up to Christmas. However, I send a reasonable amount and you only tend to remember the bad instances - overall I'd say that their performance was "OK".

ETA: I take it back, confirmed a couple of hours ago ;-)

The only problem I had was a returned package due to City Link leaving an illegible calling card. Parcel Monkey refunded my shipping cost within 48 hours of raising it with them. That's the only issue I have had to comment on so my experience is very good.

Agreed but unless you are sending large volumes regularly, its a necessary trade off to stay competitive.

As above, this could be the fault of the courier company which could happen even if you dealt with the courier directly. The risk is present no matter which re-seller or direct courier is used.

    Oh, I agree - just a pain!

Yes, agreed, City-Link were in a right old mess pre-Christmas.

My point was that it could have been City Links fault rather than Parcel Monkeys. You could have the same problem if you booked a delivery through Parcel2go, Interparcel or any of the other resellers out there.

I've used Parcel Monkey for hundreds of UK deliveries and it has been with City Link every time and have only had that one minor problem which was actually caused by one individual delivery driver.

If you look back a few posts you will see we all had problems with Citylink during the xmas period. My booking was through collectmyparcel with Citylink and the collection failed twice before i gave up and booked with DHL. I think your citylink non collection was a follow on from that period when they did nothing about any bookings made during the xmas period.

I had an email from collectmyparcel advising of a new improved booking system on their website. It seems they now just use the P4D website unless i am missing something.
  • Hi guys,

I need to send about 2kg 60cm*30cm*30cm packages on regular basis to my customers. I need them to be picked up from my place and be delivered preferably on the next working day to my customers (even better if my customers could choose the delivery date).

    What companies would you recommend?

    Thanks for your help!

If it's regular, try https://www.ukamil.biz or https://www.tuffnells.co.uk, also https://www.apc-overnight.co.uk are a bit pricier but you local depot will normally be very helpful,

Note: check back on the PayPound delivery thread on the eBay forum here, someone has just had a pay as you go account accepted, they claim to do anywhere in the UK for £1 per parcel for that size (click here)

For regular delivery tho, that's hellishly expensive, you're better off going direct, even if it's a small regular volume
