Even with 5% off most WPS services are still quite pricey

I've found their DHL services to European Union for under 10kg to be good.

Unfortunately there is a reason poeple call parcelforce parcelfarce, whereas I have yet to have a problem, or even a delay with APC and I've been using them 2 years, plus before VAT for 24 hour service even as a one-off, they're only £1 more than PF, and I'd prefer to support a local company, wouldn't you, because APC are a chain of local companies.
I'm the reverse to be honest, had a delay with APC and some quite quick turnarounds with Parcelforce.

Parcelforce are a state run/owned company.

Preferring one over the other is fair enough, not sure that the argument that they "are a chain of local companies" is really a good argument, aren't they a national company with franchisees? In that respect not dissimilar to McDonalds.

I know I have a dedicated Collect Plus thread running but I thought I would ask the experts on here whether anyone is using Collect plus and if so what sort of service they are experiencing. I don't use couriers so I wondered if my experience with Collect plus is unusual or about par for the course.

My latest parcel was dropped off at shop on Saturday and is still there...

I had sold an expensive new amplifier on ebay to a guy just 40 miles from me. I selected Interparcel/Yodel to deliver it using their 48 hour service - the collection & delivery was supposed to be via Yodel's Gatwick depot. Collection was fine - Gatwick sent it to Droitwich from whence it got lost (tracking just showed nothing after collection). Interparcel customer service were absolutely useless, I don't believe they did anything to expedite the parcel - they just blamed Yodel.

I got more info from Yodel, but they said any compensation /complaint must be directed to Interparcel

Classic case of neither party assuming responsibility.

In my view customer service is only any good if they can solve problems. In Interparcel's case, they are instructed just to apologise sweetly, but from there on its a brickwall. Totally useless, leaves a bad taste, and one feels cheated.
  • YODEL are right, all of your contact should be through interparcel as they are the ones who booked the delivery with YODEL

I've not used Interparcel, but you need to file a claim through them and they will pass it on to Yodel. Most of the Yodel resellers can't cope with the problems Yodel are causing them and then Yodel have no customer service/complaints department that is fit for purpose, it is a vicious circle.

I'm currently toying with suing the company I bought Yodel services through and those services haven't been fulfilled through lost parcels, seriously delayed delivery, etc, when tallying it up it is a good few hundred pounds, so worth a trip to court. I'd prefer to take Yodel to court but I don't have any contract with them. Interparcel and other resellers all have their own terms and conditions.

  • I send a lot of parcels of all sizes some over 2.5m long and the best service I've found is Interparcel. They have a range of services and you can increase the insurance. Their standard and economy services use UPS and I've never had a problem with UPS yet. I've had lots of problems with TNT with them either trashing the parcels or delivering them empty!
Good customer service too as I received a refund (28 days later) for it.
