Why not? What makes shipment of an item sold on eBay different from shipment of any other item?
  • I dunno, I just ended up typing a thought train of mine, and I wanted other people's experiences if any.

I think you need an account to use APC? Their prices seem competitive but they have a "fuel surcharge" which always worries me because you're never sure exactly what the bill will be.

  • Having read this article I used Citylink through Interparcel to have a wedding dress picked up for my sister to try it on and both companies were useless!!!!! She lives in Belgium and was only in the UK for a couple of days. I paid for overnight delivery and made sure the person at the other end would be in all day (they had to take a day off work and wait in) for the collection. The guy from Citylink went to the wrong address and just left when no one answered. I didn't find out it hadn't been picked up until 6pm, as this is the only timeframe they give you, by which time you can't speak to anyone at Interparcel as they close at 5!!!! I called the next day and realised what had happened when they said they had gone to a red door, and the house they should have gone to has a white door. I enquired when I would now get my delivery, as Interlink didn't bother to offer any info, and despite their mistake they weren't going to deliver the next day as it was a Saturday, (and they didn't even think to mention this despite me explaining the situation over the phone!!!) unless I paid them another £40. Otherwise I would have to wait until monday!!! By the time I found this out they had picked up the package so I couldn't even cancel and use someone else - they had me over a barrel!! It was really frustrating having to go through Interlink as they keep you on the phone for ages at 10p per minute and basically just relay messages - they are completely ineffectual and you have no recourse when something goes wrong - I will never, ever use either company again, Citylink customer service is terrible anyway but having to deal with them through a middle man is even worse. I paid for overnight delivery and 4 days later, when my sister has gone home, the dress still hasn't arrived and I am stuck in all day AGAIN.

I was daft enough to use Collect + on Friday, I dropped the parcel off at 13.40 on Friday, so far it's only tracked as moving 178 miles in that time.
It may be cheap but not worth it in my opinion.
Only try this service if you don't care how long it takes to arrive.

Likely trying to get out of customs duties and/ or other taxes. Also if you complete the customs declaration incorrectly, it is a- fraudulent and b- likely you won't be adequately insured.

My advice would be to steer well clear!
