Just had an e-mail from collectmyparcel.com saying they are now offering same day collection for their City Link service.
A result, and about time too!

Although i have joined very recently i have been lurking and using this forum for money saving tips for a long period of time. I have not had any problems with any other packaging companies that i have used, as i made sure i read through the forum to see what kind of feedback others had left.
However, just because i am a new member doesn't change the fact that a breakdown in customer service ocurred in my last dealing with the packagedeliverycompany. As i mentioned in my earlier post i booked on sunday for collection on monday which never happened after numerous emails throughout chasing up my packaging label (none were replied to), eventually i had an email after 4pm saying that they were having technical difficulties and would re-organise the collection for tuesday and supply me with a packaging label. I did recieve the packaging label so thought the better of it and re-arranged my day in order to be in for the collection. Waited all day Tuesday, around 4pm i realised i better ring up the carrier that they organised the collection with. On ringing them up i was told there was a stop on the account used so i wouldn't be getting a collection. Emailed thepackagedelivery company and told them what i had been informed by the carrier. They replied an hour or so later saying that their account had been hacked and as a result this had caused a stop to be put on collections with that carrier (if they knew that collections were not going to be made wouldn't the sensible thing be to let people affected know this). They finally re-organised a collection to be made today through another carrier and also on a 48hr delivery basis, my initial collection was for 24hr delivery.
Aside from the fact that not only is my parcel going to be delivered three days later then originally booked for, but i have had wait around 2 days in a row for a collection they knew was not going to happen.
You only find how good a company is when problems occur and in this instance they have gone down in my estimation.0 -
I wasn't talking about you MSTARG, I was talking about the others who followed you who just seemed to join because someone else was complaining, most likely about one of thei rrivals! As you know if you read my posts on this thread I also use many of the other firms in your list, the only reason I recommend thepackagedeliverycompany is because the eBay forums recommended it to me, it is cheap and I find it generally quite effective.

There was more than you joined in April so sorry to disappoint but i didnt think it was you. Your post has narrowed the choice down a bit though.0 -
I can appreciate the point with regards to the whole new member thing BUT the counter raised by Kayster is very valid as well. When I was looking into thepackagedeliverycompany over last weekend I noticed that the only feedback they had was by very young members on a few number of forums, usually with very low post counts. Typically it was the same line recommending them as a great company etc etc.
Don't believe me, Google it yourself : "thepackagedeliverycompany" +forums
I went for it because their prices for international shipping were way below the norm... risky given the lack of verifiable positive feedback but gave it a shot.
Anyways, more annoyingly, still no labels for me and my timing has been completely screwed by this experience. And no explanation after several emails back and forth. And you can't call these people, only email or fax. Right now I feel like I'm being scammed.0 -

mstarg, to clarify, has your package/parcel actually been sent? at this point I'm thinking of trying to get my money back0 -
Could anyone please advise me of the best way to send to Bulgaria an A4 envelope , under 100g, with important documents. Looked on Royal Mail but would I be better using DHL through parcels2go? Thanks for any advice.0

Hi Pankleks, yes parcel was collected on wednesday, two days later then originally booked for and on a 48 hr delivery rather than the 24hr delivery i orignally booked and after sending numerous emails (majority of which were not replied to). The advice i give is to keep emailing them and hopefully they will sort it out for you. In an email i recieved they mentioned they were sorting out labels for international delivery and hoped to have missed collections and labels sorted for friday.
Kayster, i did notice the posters ramping up have all joined around April 2011 so are themselves new members and yes their post history is interesting reading.0
