@ #2130 Not true, to be insured for a £250 phone you would have to use a courier because royal mail only insure up to £46 to the republic. I'd recommend worldwide parcel services or the package delivery comapny, they both seem quite reliable and will provide additional insurance

EDIT: I just found out that if you have top cash back you can get some on worldwide parcel services

That's true actually. Additional insurance up to £500 can be purchased, but mobile phones are exempt! That's for all destinations, by the way.

So indeed, a courier would be your only option for insured carriage.
  • I've just realised that you could use airsure with additional compensation too!

But Airsure has no signature at delivery though..
  • Might as well just use a carrier should only cost about £10:cool:

    Thanks everyone.

How reliable are couriers to ROI? Never used couriers outside UK. Obviously i would be taking out extra compensation but how easy would it be for me to make a claim if it goes lost? Would I need a receipt to show the value of the Item or would that be dependent on the courier?

Would use someone like parcel2go as direct would be too expensive

Has anyone had anything lost and made a claim?

Any reccomended couriers anyone used for outside UK?

TransGlobal Express are usually very reasonable to Ireland from the UK. DHL ground is cheapest and takes 2 - 3 working days.

I booked 4 parcels to be collected and delivered going to Spain from Worldwide Parcel Services
DHL did not turn up to collect the parcels.
I emailed Worldwide Parcel Services and they emailed back to tell me my parcels were collected and were out for delivery in France that day, they also included the tracking from someone elses parcels.
They then emailed me the next day to tell me they were sorry for their error.my parcels were not collected and they would refund me(as of yet no refund tho)
As i told them i would be posting about their company on forums they also put this in their email to me

"We would However like to point out to you that we take libellous comments very seriously so any libellous comments posted on any forum will be passed to our solicitor"

I would not use this company again for the following reasons:
They dont seam to know who's order is who's,
They are slow at issueing refunds in my case.
They try to get you not to post the truth about a bad experiences with them on forums
They email you tracking of other customers parcels.

That's a shame about Worldwide Parcel Services. It's not their fault DHL didn't collect but they should have realised that parcels out for delivery in France weren't yours, in fact when you said they hadn't been collected the should have realised there'd be no tracking. Not collected should mean a refund the same day, next day at the latest I think. Threatening with solicitors is also a bit harsh, surely you're free to post you experiences on here providing you stick to the facts?

Bad form, Worldwide Parcel Services, bad form (watched Hook earlier this week).
