I'd like to list an acoustic guitar on ebay and was wondering whether its worth offering European postage..
the parcel would be about 5-6 kg and 120cm x 20cm x 45cm max..i'm concerned that on parcel2 go they list in their conditions that guitars must go in a hard case..but it hasn't got one...any idea if there's a cheap reliable courier that will do France Germany and Eire at least?
PS - any cheapies to the channel islands because i 've got quoted £60 for there?
thanks.0 -

I intend to post my experiences with those when time permits. I thought it would be helpful to other members of the forum to hear someone's experience of what happens if you need to contact customer services.
I look forward to hearing about your other experiences.0 -
Sorry for snapping ff, just agree with what JPS29 has said. It will be interesting if you have used a few different ones.0

Sent a 30kg parcel with spare clothes and folding bike to Oz recently.
Transglobal Express very competitive (>20% less than any other quote).
Also very helpful when phoned for help.
DHL picked up parcel on Friday and delivered it on Tuesday.
A very good outcome.0 -

Blackbeard definitely spam and reported, in other post he suggests guess who....yes Fast Lane for shipping nuts from Brazil!!!
A pointer to all the companies that look to spam these boards. As a customer I se it as a desperate and very unprofessional attempt at drumming up custom, hence I NEVER use them, and would advise others do the same.0 -

XDP
Came accross a new (to me) courier this week XDP express - their website says they are the largest privately owned courier in UK.
They were supposed to be delivering to me an item i had bought on ebay only it never arrived. I looked up the tracking details and it said "delivered".
I contacted the seller who is an ebay Top Rated who has "Has earned a track record of excellent service" and after the first message being ignored replied to second message advising me it had been delivered and a link to the signature on the drivers delivery manifest. Looking at the manifest the driver had put a note by the signature " Wrong bl**dy post code". Now as the postcode was correct and I havent got the item it doesnt take a genius to work out that the driver has found a similar named house in a neighbouring village and delivered it there and the receiver was quite happy to get my item free. The Top rated ebay seller has now gone back to ignoring me.
I think there are way to many half empty couriers vans following each other round all on similar routes with drivers who do not know the areas spraying parcels as they go to anyone who will sign for them. Perhaps some rationalisation of the market would be in order to increase the efficiency of the couriers so less vans carry more parcels each.
Top Rated Ebay sellers could also do with a weed out.0
