Cheap Parcel Delivery Official Discussion

Someone asked about Uk Mail. I've done one with them via interparcel when the sender could not print a label. Collected on time and delivered to me next day - so all good.
I've just sent a parcel with them via Interparcel, as they will take long parcels that are outsize for other carriers. Picked up promptly, will have to see whether it gets delivered OK.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

On a day where the 1.95 gets added my direct DHL account is now significantly cheaper. The next day collection is the larger problem though as I am ad-hoc account rather than scheduled daily collection.
Be interested to know how much your direct DHL prices are? My volumes are pretty small though (unfortunately - been incurring a lot of collection surcharges lately)

I went on ebay to find a cheap collect and deliver parcel service, I found one called Senda2b.com, it was so easy to get a quote for a parcel pick up from Leeds to South Wales where I live, I was quoted £7.14 and they would use Home Delivery Network, This was great for me the parcel weighs 20kg it is 47x56x44cm so I registered with them and put in all the necessary addresses and paid with Paypal, thought it was all I had to do, I then received an email from Senda2b with the attachment to download the label to put on the parcel, I thought OK, I can forward the email to the collection point in Leeds, so I phoned the person I bought this item off to ask for their email address for them to print the label their side, they did not have the necessary tools to do it. I wish I had read their terms now, I contacted them but was told there was nothing they could do HDN would not pick up the parcel without the downloaded label on it, even though I had give the barcode number to the person in Leeds.
So could anyone tell me if there is an intelligent transport company out there who could take the label themselves to the collection point and stick it on the parcel to deliver it?0 -

Hi, try collectmyparcel.com, they have a DHL service for up to 30Kg for £8.95 (inc. VAT), book on-line, pay with PayPal no special labels needed, the sender can simply hand write one and tape it on. Hope this helps.0 -
I have sent 2 parcels by My Hermes, the first one was dealt with excellently, the second one was smashed to bits!
I accept that accidents happen, however my gripe is that their customer service is non existent.
I have sent 6 e mails, completed their review section and held on a 10p/ min phone line for ages, BUT I can not get any contact with them to get my money back.
I think the only option may be to go to the small claims court next week unless anyone has any other ideas?Life is not all about money - we just believe so :hello:0 -
What was it you sent?0

Unless the parcel was delivered obviously damaged on the outside and the receiver noted when he signed for it that the parcel was damaged you are going to have a hard time making a succesful claim. The carrier will argue that if the item inside is broken yet the packaging is intact the breakage is due to insufficient packing - and that is good argument - yes?
you havent given any details of what happened, what it was or the value of the item and what insurance value you took out and for all i know you might have a strong case with lots of backup like the receiver noting a smashed package but if its a low value item and you do not have a strong case take the pragmatic approach and consider what value you put on your time and the agro and stress you are giving yourself and ask - is it worth it?0 -
What would be the cheapest courier to send documents (just a few sheets of paper) within 3 days (like sending on Monday, delivery not later than Wednesday) to another EU country?0
