soolin is right - dont look at the £150 as some magic amount. The amount at which you do not bother with a signature is the amount you do not mind losing when the parcel does not arrive. If the receiver says he has not got it and you do not have a signature that money will disappear from you paypal account quicker than an ice lolly melts on a hot day.

Almost any courier except Royal mail will get a signature, DHL, FEDEX. TNT, UPS. Parcelforce they all do.

Cool - that makes sense to me - thank you for your help Kayster and Soolin. I'll have a look at parcel2go and get some courier prices from there.
  • I would like to have a parcel approx 10lb weight and dimension 24" x 24" x 24" from LIGHTHOUSE POINT, FL to Calgary Alberta Canada - what are the rates and options? I am seeking the most cost effective means and I dont need it in a rush.

Hello. I'm listing a chest of drawers and would like to be able to offer some sort of carriage. Where is the cheapest/most reliable place to get a quote?

    Parcel Monkey server
If you have had a problem placing an order with Parcelmonkey its due to their server running slow from evening last night and is now swamped with a backlog of orders.
I placed an order midday yesterday and it did not spit out the label until 8.30pm and apparently it has gone downhill since.
The word is please do not place orders untill later in the day when they hope to have the problem sorted.

  • Hi

I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some advice?

I have found a lovely table and chairs set on ebay that I would really love to bid on. The trouble is it's pick up only from basingstoke and I'm in Leicester.
There is no way I could drive down in my car as its only a little peugot 206.

Does anyone know if it would be possible to arrange a collection through a courier or freight company to pick the item up and deliver to me and how I would go about organising it?
I don't want to cause a big problem for the seller so if anyone has any experience of a company they have used who were reliable and not too expensive it would be a big help to me.

    Many thanks in advance:)
    Nothing to report:p

Hi, try www.shiply.com or www.boxby.co.uk, post the job (for free) and allows man with van and smaller courier firms to bid on the job and collect and deliver to you.

Thanks, I tried Shiply but I have no idea who people are that bid, whether they are trustworthy etc. There used to be a couple of well used removal firms that dealt with ebay furniture but I can't remember who they are.

Hi all, just wondering if people could provide a little bit of advice with this as I've never sold on anything on ebay at this size before...

I'm planning to sell my job-lot of CD albums (approx 180) via ebay...worked out that the dimensions would be

    LENGTH 60CM
    WIDTH 45CM
    HEIGHT 22CM

    WEIGHT 22kg (approx)

In a box that I've found to house them in....what would be best for me with this?

I could pack them into 3 smaller boxes which would obviously bring the individual box weights down and the sizes but obviously there would be 3 items not just 1.

Thanks in advance for your help.
