Thanks for the warning. I didn't know myHermes and Parcelnet were linked.

My experience of Parcelnet is very bad. Driver accused us of stealing a parcel for a different address that she said she had left on our door step, forced her way into our house looking for it, ranting and swearing. Our toddler was scared every time the door bell rang for weeks after that. She's well known in the area for delivering parcels by throwing them over gates. Online shop (a large national chain) was very understanding but I don't know if they reported it to Parcelnet. Obviously a local issue and most drivers are excellent but it makes me wonder what checks are performed in the recruiting process and what actions they take when they get reports of this sort of thing.

If we have to buy from a shop that uses Parcelnet, we now have them delivered to my work address.

Hi - my daughter has to get some worksheets delivered to Oxford Uni by Tuesday 10th November - they'll be ready to collect from me (nr Chichester) on Mon 9th.. Royal Mail aren't guaranteeing their Special Delivery post, so I need to find another alternative.

On this occasion, I'm looking for top reliability, rather than cheapest cost. Who would you recommend?

    Thank you :)

    For top reliability probably UPS.

Book it through a reseller that gets recommened for good customer service. There are quite a few around selling UPS. If you can get someone that prices on weight rather than simply a flat price it will work out cheaper.

Incorrect DaveAshton it would only be a Hermes courier they were formerly Parcelnet, incorrect again they don't deliver Sundays and some don't deliver Saturdays.
You can think I'm incorrect if you like, but we regularly get things delivered on weekend evenings, whether you believe it or not. It was the same driver as usually brings our randomly-timed stuff, whether weekend or weekday.

Most of the "man in a little white van" couriers we have around here do the deliveries as a second job, so they can't drop stuff off at a "normal" time. We had a delivery at about 10ish at night last year (that got left with a neighbour though, we'd gone out and had a ParcelNet label through the letterbox when we got back).
Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Just had Fedex collect, booked via Parcel Monkey. (Whose web-site is a nightmare. IMHO, it's incredibly easy to mix up the addresses when adding multiple items.

Just to update (and also to back you up here Dave) - my little white van man turned up yesterday to collect the parcel that was booked for Monday - he had not even been told it had been cancelled - he is a lovely chap who has this as a secondary job and often delivers to me late at night (up to 9pm he has been known to turn up), he also comes over the weekends - when I told him what had happened with the gun etc, he said there was a problem in our area - the couriers had been asked to give a day up in order to keep their holiday entitlement - the woman who was supposed to collect Monday had given Mondays up, so she was never going to arrive on Monday broken gun or not - the area is split into 2, and on wednesday she contacted him and asked him to come and get this parcel as she had forgotten on wednesday! (never mind about tuesday!), hence why he arrived yesterday - he delivers my next, vertbaudet and la redoute and has no reason to lie to me, he knew the company was in the wrong and as he told me himself - don't bother trying to ring them they hardly ever answer the phone (as I found out this week).

Sorry, but I reiterate that I will never use them again,

Has anyone had their quidco tracked for parcel monkey? I have placed 9 seperate orders this week and only had the 1st one tracked which was when the cashback was still £1.00?
