This is slightly relevant to this thread, but Id like to say anyone sending anything electrical via DHL, do not pay for compensation more than £100. I was in WHSmiths and was reading the DHL restricted list and it mentioned that they wouldnt give compensation for electrical components over £100 in value. A word of warning to anyone who sells anything electrical with DHL. For me, I dont mind as much because a computer is made of parts and if one part goes, Im likely to be covered, but for people selling things like Blu ray players, HD TV's etc... I would beware

Hehe, they seem to have David Brent delivering the parcels :)

I was wondering how Parcel2go systems were coping with the postal strike, I know that they've been doing massive amounts of marketing, and I wondered if they managed to deliver on it all?

Good headline rate but no online booking with booking done by an 0871 premium rate phone call puts me right off. How about a freephone number until you get online booking?

I found the volume and the gloating tone of their too frequent emails as they expounded every bit of bad news about the Royal Mail strike enough to put me off ever using them but as they are so expensive i never use them anyway so i guess they havent lost much!

I'm not really interested in waiting by the phone for somone to call me back - i just want to fill in an online booking form - pay and move on to something else.
Tried your live chat and it just asked me to send a message by email so that isnt much use either .
I'm must stop talking to you as if you are something to do with the company - sorry;)
  • I just used Parcel Monkey as a result of this discussion and thought feedback might be useful.
Sent them an email query 18.30 Wednesday to clarify some points. They say as they don't have a massive call center queries are only answered (generally) between 9am and 5.30 pm but I had a reply by 9pm the same day that answered my questions.
Placed the order 11.00 Thursday and had confirmation by 2pm it would be collected Friday by Fedex between 8 and 5 (not a problem for me as it was being collected from partners workplace).
It was collected Sheffield 1pm Friday and delivered Kirkcaldy (East Coast Scotland) 1pm Monday
I was able to track it throughout and they let me know it had been delivered by text before my mother did!
Brilliant service (admittedly only used once) cost £6.90 (inc vat) for 4kg parcel (could have been up to 10 kg for the same price)
Hope this is useful and i won't hesitate to use them again.

Well, up to this point they have been ok and I've had DHL pick ups. It's HDN that's lost the parcel although it's through P2G.
Have to say though, that P2G staff seemed rather off when I phoned them and they've not responded to my emailed complaint yet after 3 days.

    Their emails annoyed me too.

Are they really expensive? I send out boxes of books usually weighing about 15kgs and I haven't found anyone cheaper. Am I missing something? I keep an eye on here but the cheapest ones are usually for well below that weight.
