  • I used Parcel monkey, brilliant site. I filled in the details at 11pm, they emailed me a price, I accepted it (nearly half Royal Mail). They sent me an address lable and a courier arrived and collected the parcel at 9.30am the following day. It arrived safely 300 miles away in 27 hours.

  • Hi

Had this through today from collectmyparcel.com:

DHL Domestic (UK to UK) have informed us that as of 01 December 2010 same day collections and the 1pm cut off we no longer be available and a new cut off of 11pm will come it to effect. All bookings must be placed the day prior (or earlier) of the requested collection date.

    DHL International services are unaffected.
  • Forgot to ask. Does anyone know is this all re-sellers? And is this just for Christmas or forever?

I think its all of them for ever. See this below from payperparcel. Kayster.

    Dear Customer,
Please be advised of a few changes to PayPerParcel happening from December 1st 2010.
Immediate update to our services that may affect the way you book your parcels with us.
Removal of the same day collection for UK deliveries
(N.B this does not affect customers on the regular account where the driver is contracted to collect at a set time)
Some of you may have experienced failed collections even late collections and although disappointing this was often due to drivers already mapping out their route for the next day and then additional parcels being booked afterwards i.e same day bookings. This caused drivers stress and sadly lots of complaints.
Please ensure that if you require a collection for Monday that you book your parcels in on the Friday to be sure 100% that they will be collected, bookings made on Saturdays and Sundays are sent to DHL for booking every hour from 18:00 but may be delayed by their systems on some occasions, so we strongly recommend that if you require a Monday collection so you book early to avoid any issues.
Labels and manifests must be printed on all accounts
    (Excluding European account)
Fixing a label to all your boxes will soon be mandatory. The reason for this is due to drivers collecting additional boxes not booked through our system and services like 1-3 day services being upgraded by drivers all of which was a loss to PayPerParcel for which will be recovered by our customer services team in December. The label helps minimise the billing issues and helps with misrouted parcels because of hand written boxes so going forward we will eliminate these issues and also you will have the parcel number JDXXXXXX immediately so this is an improved solution.
If you are arranging a collection for someone else (another address) then the pdf label and a manifest should be sent to the sender, you may download these as normal and then save and forward off to the sender.
All new bookings placed on the system shortly will require these new labels and the system will show these when printing, you are required to print labels and 2 manifest sheets, per collection postcode.
NOTE: Please report to us any driver that places their own bar-coded sticker on the parcel as these must be highlighted to us via the contact us form on the website to avoid additional charges to your account.

Hi, A question for you, after my parcel not being collected your customer services dept did rebook it for the next day but not having a contact number for me to use is a real pain but that’s not the actually question .I was told by your customer services that their is a “rebook” button on your website so that once a collection has failed this button becomes “live” and you can simply rebook for the next day ,but try as i might I cannot find any such button within your website (including the account section) so could you shed some light on this .

    Thanks

I`m in the same position, no collection on wednesday 1/12/2010 but citylink arrived today to collect more packages i had booked in....but refused to take the outstanding packages from wednesday.
I have customers waiting, email can take 24 hours to respond and where and how do you rebook without paying extra.

    Thanks

Just a thought, wouldn't it be better to contact City Link directly regarding getting the outstanding parcels collected. Quote them the LW00000-0000000 rather than the PM-0000.

Also point of interest, with regard to tracking did you know you can use just the LW000000 and not the long PM number

  • Has anyone ever managed to successfully get any coins back from one of these parcel shipping agents when its all gone wrong? I have shipped a box with DHL through interparcel. I paid £20 for a 2-3 day european delivery to France. Its now almost a fortnight since I shipped it and they have not made a single attempt to deliver it. Of course now the weather has gone cold they are blaming that, act of god, out of our control and what have you, but if they had got on and shipped it promptly in the first place before the 'big freeze' they would have been no problem. Also theres no snow anywhere near the destination but that does not seem to matter. Anyway, I'm not bothered about the parcel any more, its too late, but I would like my £20 shipping costs back as Interparcel/DHL have totally failed to provide any service of any sort as far as i can see. Interparcel are not having any of it!!!! Does anyone have any tips for dealing with these criminals?
