We are still operating but with some customers reporting problems.

We had a server issue which left us with a limited site at times overnight or not one at all.

Our IT are trying to resolve the problem so access for all becomes 100% again.

    Thank you.

I used Parcel monkey, brilliant site. I filled in the details at 11pm, they emailed me a price, I accepted it (nearly half Royal Mail). They sent me an address lable and a courier arrived and collected the parcel at 9.30am the following day. It arrived safely 300 miles away in 27 hours.

That's not the way parcelmonkey work. They don't email you a price. Are we having to spam now?

    Hi,parcelmonkey representative

I'm still hoping your going to let us know how you can rebook missed COLLECTIONS by the courier on you site without having to pay again ,your customer services say you can but i cant see how???

You have always been pretty much on the ball but things seem to be slipping (and i don't just mean on the ice)

    Cheers.

stu - you just send them an email on the site itself with the ref number and they rebook it.

Thanks for that ,but the customer services say you dont need to bother us as you do it yourself via the website using the rebook "button" which i cannot find anywhere??

That only happens when a driver has called and you're not in. He then sends a missed collection notice which allows you to rebook.

Just in case no-one's mentioned it on this thread (had a skim but don't think so), Staples have an offer on at the moment to send their "Xlarge" up to 10kg parcel size for £5. (NB The XLarge is not actually that big). You have to go to a Staples store and pack it there though. Might be useful for an "occasional" sender.

  • First of all I am glad to report the site is fully functional once again and sorry to any customers who experienced problems this morning.

Stu68, The call centre is right that we do have a re book function but that only comes up if the driver enters the correct information on his hand held.
Otherwise on failed collections you get the dreaded "Order cancelled by account holder" which is not the case.

We are working closly with City Link to incorporate better hand held technology and hope to see these improvements filter through to our customers in the near future.

Thank you macfly for your reply on this subject.

I've recently started to ebay some items and thought I would save some effort and money by using a courier company.

I booked the parcels through My Hermes, who have been very helpful and efficient throughout. I cannot say the same for the courier that they use - a firm called Neil Beauchamp (
    [FONT=georgia,palatino]SE26 5BA).

They were booked to pickup parcels Tuesday and Wednesday last week, and as of now (Monday evening) have not shown up to collect any parcels, have not phoned or otherwise attempted to communicate. I've been in regular contact with them over the week via MyHermes and directly. Apart from when they were closed last week for a couple of days the general response is that they will collect "tomorrow".

I've tried to escalate by calling the company directly but the staff answering the phones don't know a lot about what is going on and the management team appear to be mostly absent (at least they weren't picking up the phone).

Given the amount of time spent on this it would have been faster to spend the 1.5-2 hours to drive to their depot and back.

I'm going to try asking MyHermes to use a different courier in my area - I'm really tired of waiting around for a courier that never comes.
