Anyone looking to post stuff abroad worth checking out www.transglobal.org.uk
I priced up several sites for my parcel which was 26K to Canada and most were priced between £80 & £110. Transglobal which gave me several company options came out at £62.63 with £5 insurance which I added just for peace of mind. It's going by DHL so a trusted carrier. I have used the company before back in March 2008 but then 24k cost me £114 so a massive saving this time on 2008 prices and the other sites that I checked out. Worth a look if you've something to send.:rotfl:
They have some great prices but I'm sure I've read they have a tendency to add on a Remote Area Surcharge to certain countries etc which they simply charge your credit card for without telling you. Nothing you can do about it as it's in their Terms & Conditions. I think it's £15 too!0 -
Is any one having any issues with longer delivery times with HDNL, the last 11 orders I have sent UK Mainland 4 have arrived a day late and a few ebay customers want the postage fee back! I'm using http://interparcel.com/ and http://www.smartcourier.co.uk/ equally but the HDNL is still the same so it must be them.0

Hi there!
I was wondering who do you think would do the cheapest postage for about £1000 worth of xbox/playstation games insured? They weigh about 10kg and the package is 46x30x29cm.
Thanks for your help guys!0 -
Parcel monkey does seem to be going downhill. This is the issue I raised on the 25th via their support centreHi,
I am having problems with my City Link driver, who refuses to sign the collection receipt. Last time, I made an order the order thankfully arrived with no damage. I know, that as I am sending a monitor, there will be no compensation for me whatsoever so I have no gripes with ParcelMonkey for adding a collection receipt this time(considering my driver will outright refuse to sign it)
It is not only me, but others have been affected by this new policy of Parcel Monkey, as seen on the moneysavingexpert forums. The link is as follows:

If you scroll down, you will be able to see where I last posted, and someone else subsequently also said that this is a problem.
Kind regards
No response. Today, the City Link driver never came to pick up my parcel, which obviously does affect my seller feedback. Thankfully, this was on my private eBay account, and not on my business one0 -
Hi Waqasahmed,
I am sorry to read that you never had a response to your ticket raised on the 25th.
The problems with the collection reciept a few weeks back were due to City Link not informing all the drivers of what was required.
The collection reciept protects both sides in terms of proof which we found we had problems with in the past regarding claims.
In terms of the City Link driver not turning up today I am not happy to read that.
Please give me your order id and I will arrange either a refund or collection tomorrow.

The ID is: PM_323771_434305 and ideally I'd like a collection for Wednesday then. I take it now that City Link drivers should sign the second paper?0

Parcel Monkey collection receipt
Some may welcome this innovation, I do not. I used to have trouble with DHL drivers who were not allowed to pick up without a signature.
Some of us do not want to stay around all day waiting for a driver.
As an optional extra, which we can print and use or not, it is a good idea: just don't make it compulsory for Citilink drivers, please.0 -
And why should our claims be rejected if our City Link driver refuses to sign the paper? (when they're not paid to do so) If you think about it, it takes them probably 2 minutes to do so, but 2 multiplied by x people, is a lot of unpaid overtime.0

Picking up items without a signiture is dangerous for all concerned.
Theft by the driver is one area of concern. ( I never picked up anything from that address )
Fraud by the customer (The driver came and got it so he must have lost or stolen it)
Item left out for pick up while no one is home ( who knows who took it or if it was even left out in the first place )
We have had cases in all these areas and simply want to eliminate them. City Link are supporting this as they don't want any fingers pointing at them and we don't want to be compensating dishonest customers.
It's added protection for our customers and is welcomed by many thousands.
By the way City Link are to directly employ 500 more drivers so we hope to see an improvement on their already high success rate as the peak time of year gets ever closer.0 -

I would support it if my driver signs. Also, are you saying that the City Link driver should sign? If so, Ill get in touch with City Link and see what they have to say about it. It would be nice if the driver did sign for deliveries. At this moment in time, I havent selected any more than £20 compensation, because of my driver's refusal to sign0
