What do you all say "I'm thinking of leaving, what can you offer me?" I need to look into this quick. I'm in an area with poor signal on my phone too but can't cancel as under contract on that til 12/13. No cable in this area but they are making noises about installing it some time in the future.

Can you confirm that you did get these vouchers on top of all the other bribes (£200 and free bb for a year) as you posted. (So we all know the extent of the latest deal)

I called them yesterday as I am so fed up of connection/bandwidth/whatever it is called issues if 2 or 3 of us are doing things online. Hadn't even looked at this thread first. I was offered 12 months free and an upgraded router. I said I would have a think and get back to them today. I wasn't offered any 'extras' such as vouchers or mobile phone credit.

And the guy I spoke to mentioned that once Sky took over they may offer deals for existing customers. He also said that I could try it for 14 days and cancel if it was no better and that I would have no obligation after the free year. They must be desperate...

Simply ask for your MAC and they'll offer it.

O2 were trying to offer me freebies but after mentioning my speed they quickly gave up.

See this, advise everyone to leave O2 quickly now Sky have taken over. Same problem as when Pipex got taken over by Tiscali/Talk Talk, they went from best to the worst.

My s-i-l has just "negotiated" 12 months free b/band plus £200 O2 mobile credit - but he had to be persistent and phone several times - suspect that they are starting to rein in their offers as most of the "Sky over my dead body" crowd have either accepted the offer(s) or taken a MAC and gone!!
As to comment by cepheus, suspect the problems will start when Sky have actually taken over and start to move people on to their equipment at the exchanges-they will try to squeeze as many as possible on the existing kit which MAY lead to contention issues - there will also be the hard sell to move subscribers on to full LLU for phone/broadband -I've told my s-i-l to stick with BT for the moment and pay line rental upfront for a year to get the best deal from them, especially as they don't use the phoneline to make outbound calls.
