I'm usually hopeless at ringing people but have just called O2, got my broadband cost halfed, a new router and a £30 cheque.
Very happy here, so thanks to the op. :T0 -
You can get the retention deal (6 months free + £30 cheque cashback) when you have completed 11 months of your current contract.
Is that on top of the "12 months half price" you get for having been with them for over 2 years" or instead of....
I.e. can you tell me what package you are on and how much a month you will pay once your 6 months free is up?A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -

It is in exchange for a new 12 month contract to replace the existing one which has a month left to run.
It is the £9.50/month package (£14.50 less £5 o2 phone discount)
Once the 6 months are up it will revert to £9.50.0 -
Thanks very much for the tip - I also just called and got my broadband charge halved for a year and a new router. I asked about the £30 and was told no as that's just for people with an O2 mobile, but I'm happy enough without that!0

and the monthly limit was 100GB
Now i thought the unlimited was 300GB when i took out the plan several years ago.
I took out my contract in July 2/3 years ago? Am i in a contract until July or can i cancel now?
There is an FUP in place on the legacy tariffs. Though there is little evidence of them invoking it that I've heard of. Maybe that has changed? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Looking for a bit of advice were on the old package and were advised last year not to leave because you dont get truly unlimited anymore but im thinking of moving as we have lost our £5 discount now (we left o2 mobile but they gave us the £5 discount for a year) and bt's charging more for line rental.
Thought it might be worth phoning and see what we got offered has anyone tried to add home phone and not hugely objected to being moved to the new package? taking on board we no longer have an o2 mobile. We dont download an awful lot but OH watches american football via the computer and we do occasionally use iplayer.0 -
You don't have to own an O2 mobile, you can register any number you like (friend, family) with their agreement. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Its worth topping a phone up x £40 in 4 payments for the service and low price.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Exactly. Expenditure is £40pa. Saving is £60pa. You are still £20 ahead. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
