Puzzled now. Legacy packages are truly unlimited downloads? I had a call a few weeks back saying i had exceeded 100GB.
and the monthly limit was 100GB
Now i thought the unlimited was 300GB when i took out the plan several years ago.
I took out my contract in July 2/3 years ago? Am i in a contract until July or can i cancel now?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I was told by retentions a few weeks ago when I got my 6 months free that they were looking into releasing their fibre broadband soon (he couldn't give me exact details as it may change but said it is looking like within the next 6 months).0 -

Be Broadband (who run O2) are losing lots of customers to fibre services and have only recently connected their first customer in the fibre trial they finally announced.
As such, I would guess that it would be closer to a year before they have a product to rollout - as they are planning to do it differently to other most other ISPs.
I'm sure I seen comments from Be staff members (on their internal customer forums) saying that the retentions line shouldn't be making the sort of optimistic claims they stated to you - and that they were going to raise this internally so staff could be retrained..

I thought they had not made any changes, I'm puzzled. Could it be a mistake?0 -
Excellent Money Saving!
Phoned retentions and said Sky was offering 6 months free. The guy said he could do the same and I would be on a 12 month contract on my legacy package exactly as before. 5 mins work for half price rental! Phone rental is with BT but I have a PAYG with O2 so it reverts to £13 pm after the six free ones! No throttling, shaping or any limits! Thanks Santa!Nice to save.0 -

Any idea about my contract? Will i have to wait until june/july? to call them?
They called me and said the limit is 100GB a month. Paying £9.50 with the discount after the O2 pay and go topup every 3 months.
This is a legacy package is it not? They said i was affecting other users on the network. Seems unlikely when im barely getting 3mb.
I was getting 4mb before.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
First years contract was up in November, always on the newer package, paying £8.50.
Found this decent offer, so upgraded to 'The Allrounder' to get over the 800kbps throttling of iplayer etc which means my new TV works as it should.
I was offered half price on every package, don't know if they realised, but I've not been an O2 phone customer for 2 years yet.
Now on a better package, paying £6.25/mth + £30 cashback cheque due in a few weeks.

Afternoon everyone, I love these threads with everyone helping each other get better deals...
I currently pay £12.50 a month for "The All-rounder" and had the first 6 months free... so effectively i'm paying £6.25 a month. My phone is with Primus Saver for £7.99 a month.
My contract is up with O2 not and so i'm wondering what I could haggle with them? I love the O2 service except for the traffic management which is crap. I don't download too much each month but when I do download the odd film I want it quick as possible...
12 months half price (so £6.25 again) with £30 cashback seems the best advertised deal, has anyone had anything better?
Also I could move my line rental to them but since they charge more than primus (for the advertised rate) then unless they do me a discount on that too, there isn't any point.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
You can get the retention deal (6 months free + £30 cheque cashback) when you have completed 11 months of your current contract.
This must mean many of us who got in touch with them in February last year (to complain about the proposed price rises and get the 6 months free they offerd then for us to stay) can now get on to them for this new deal (which they give on the old packages too).
To get the extra £30 cheque (if not offered it), ask them for the "winter warmer £30".0
