Donna ~
DTS in a game is NOT the same as in a dvd film
Generally speaking it uses maths to convert from one format to another. Id be very suprised if you could tell any difference
Movies aren't recorded in DTS or Dolby, so even a film soundtrack has to be converted to either of those formats.
A games console just has to do it on the fly as obviously the sound will be different every time you play.0 -
Marty ~ yes, they have to be converted over
What I was saying (As youve already said) is theyre converted 'on the fly':idea:0 -

i'm still not getting it to find out though. the little dts light lights up in the display on the home cinema system when i am getting dts.
edit.
does anyone have fifa 09 or any fifa on the ps3? do you get dts sound?0 -
I cant say if this will work or not but some games require a really odd way of getting around problems
For example ~ to initiate 1080P in some games you have to switch OFF 720P (Which irritates the hell outta me)
It could be the same for DTS in FIFA? (Ie, switch off all DD and leave just DTS selected):idea:0 -
thanks. i will give that a try.0

i have said the same myself
under the TV i have a 360,PS3,V+ box & HDMI switch
thats it no room for anything else really (not even my old faithful XBMC xbox1)
so sony dropping BC is a pain.theres a PS2 upstairs but to bring it down, hook it up to the amp/TV is too much faff
plus all that processing power improves older games graphics(as seen on the 360) and saves on extra connections
Ive said it before but its funny looking back on when sony slated the 360 for using software emulation way back at the PS3 launch0 -
I've had a xbox for about 2 years and it's currently away being repaired for the second time, though its free under warranty its becoming a pain.
I'll be exchanging it for a PS3 shortly, mainly for bluray, free online multiplayer and because its what most of my friends own and we can swap games/play online together on those cold winter evenings.Topcashback 2009 - £61
