The experience on ps3 for lag has been shambolic, but 360 has been nearly perfect.

    For me anyway.

its odd that its the reverse for me. i arent a fanboy either as i had a 360 long before i got a ps3. i dont really play alot online. i have only played 360 online when i have had free membership and that was mostly halo 3. with ps3 i dont play much simply because i dont have the time. i have played killzone 2 mainly and little bit of resistance 2.

I used to be Sony through and through I still play the PS2, but I was really miffed about the lack of backwards compat.

if you have a ps2 why do you need backward compatibility. it is only needed for those who want to throw out their old consoles.

well i dont know about others but i have limited space under the TV
i also have an AV set up and its much easier if the HDMI equipped uber console does it than an old PS2 where i need to change to sound inputs and AV channels

360/PS3/V+ box all run through HDMI with auto switching
my old XBMC xbox 1 means changing to the component channel on the TV
then the seperate AV RCA channel on the amp

I dont use massive file sizes
Upto approx 8 gig as a max
    6 gig as an average

If you're encoding as h.264, you could probably squeeze them down a bit smaller than that. The HD version of Quantum of Solace from iTunes is only 3.5 GB (though admittedly, it's only 720p).

    That was an average
Ive had 3 hour long movies encoded at 1080P with 5 channel sound down to 4 gig with no visible problems

i get dts no problem with dvds and blu rays that have dts. its just with fifa 09 that i am not getting it. as dts sounds better than regular dolby digital 5.1 i was getting excited about how good the game would sound when i saw it said dts on the box.

    Donna ~
DTS in a game is NOT the same as in a dvd film
Generally speaking it uses maths to convert from one format to another. Id be very suprised if you could tell any difference
