Honestly the people dissing Firefox really don't appear to have used the current version, I find it superb.0

I use firefox mainly and am not tracked.
So you manully opted-out?According to google yes, according to phorm they just want to target advertising specifically to you. Personally I dont want any info going to anyone unless I opt in.
What has Phorm got to do with it?As long as I dont see adds I dont care how they make money.
My point was not about how they make their money. You said it was unlikely there would be an ad-blocker for Chrome as Google make their money from ads. My point was that there is an ad-blocker for Firefox, and they also make their money from ads.
Sp, ipso facto, making money from advertising does not preclude the availability of an ad-blockerAgain not my concern. And its up to me what the default search engine is.
You're missing the point. See above.0 -

Yes and no, I have the TACO addon installed. And for the ones not covered I have Track Me Not and Ghostery addons installed. What has Phorm got to do with it?My point was not about how they make their money. Now I could be called cynical but google could easily have put an inbuilt adblocker in chrome, why haven't they? Will we see one?? Who knows. All I know is they'll make more money from a Browser/OS that can track a users browsing habits-target there advertising-have the advertising unblocked.
If I'm still missing your point you'll have to spell it out nice and simple for me.0 -
^ According to Mozilla v3.5.3 is still the latest version...0

Oops that was a mistake, it is v.3.5.4
Again not according to Mozilla, the makers of Firefox, it's still v3.5.3 as before:

Spooky, have you been hacked?!
All versions officially are 3.5.3 for all platforms, full authorised list here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
If you try and create a download link for 3.5.4 such as: http://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-3.5.4&os=win&lang=en-GB it obviously fails.
Just checked the updates, none also due...
Even the portable edition is 3.5.3: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable0 -
OMG how is that possible?
I just now checked with my friend system there too it shows 3.5.3 only.
I again checked the release notes and it says,
v.3.5.4 Beta (Build 1), released October 9, 2009
Thanks for participating in the Firefox Community Beta Program! Testing beta builds of Firefox helps ensure that they are secure and stable for hundreds of millions of users around the world.
