Sorry about butting in but I am interested to know which ADD-ONs you use the most.0 -
I prefer Safari to Firefox as it's a faster browser. The only add-on I really use in Firefox is Ad-block, and you can get that for Safari (for the Mac version anyway). It doesn't integrate very well with my Mac, which is another reason I don't use it.
Firefox's add-on architecture is the only thing it has going for it; if it didn't have that, it would be a very lacklustre browser. As it is, it's a lacklustre browser that has cool add-ons available for it.
Here's an interesting page. I'm not sure if I agree with everything on it, but it makes for interesting reading.0 -

Some sites will not cater for the different browsers. So whilst most look fine in IE, there can be subtle issues in FF and Safari.
Not really looked into Chrome.
Personally... I used FF. But that is due to some of the add-ons which I cannot work without!
If sites don't look good in other browsers is mainly because they are poorly coded, IE fails most standards than most of the others.
Test them by using the Web Standards Acid tests: http://acid3.acidtests.org/
Info here: http://www.webstandards.org/action/acid3/
I use hundreds of sites a week, and although I keep IE for testing, I've not found anything which doesn't work in Firefox. Some of the eGov stuff looks better in IE (because it's coded by idiots), but all works. A few years ago there were more problems, but today, it's rare.
You can get the IE Tab add-on for Firefox, which allows you to render any problematic pages using the IE engine directly in Firefox.
My essential Add-on for utter security is NoScript.0 -

It really is about personal choice, but if you want something professional then go for Safari, and just for !!!!!! and giggles0

Opera
No contest for me!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Interesting statement, whats very lacklustre about it?
It renders pages slowly, it's full of memory leaks, it's not, as some would have it, incredibly secure (13 critical security flaws in Firefox 3.5 alone, and counting), it takes a long time to start compared to other browsers, and it doesn't even pass the ACID3 test (though it tries very hard).
It's just not great, and there are better browsers out there.0 -
I downloaded Safari 2 months ago and found it extremely slow so uninstalled it. Google Chrome I find annoying because of the privacy issues and the service it automatically installs to update itself so uninstalled that.I find Opera very quick but a little annoying; have it on my usb though. Firefox is great though not as quick as opera never had any prolems with memory leaks. I'd use Chromium but theres no add blocker for it. SRWare Iron is Chromium with an add blocker very fast very good.
Acid test is all well and good but as M$ have proven standards aren't that important 93/100 is just nit picking. The addons for firefox are what the apps are for the iphone.0 -
yes it is firefox because of huge extension0
