Have a Windows machine and I tend to use Firefox most of the time, my favourite extensions are: Adblock Plus, Next Tab, DownloadThemAll and McAfee Site Advisor.

I also use opera occasionally and I quite like it. (Found at http://www.opera.com/)
Only use IE for a small minority of sites that don't work :( on the above browsers.

Haven't used safari, so can't compare but quite happy with Firefox for its speed, easy of use and security.

PS- You could install both and test them out to see which one you like best.

I downloaded Safari 2 months ago and found it extremely slow so uninstalled it. Google Chrome I find annoying because of the privacy issues and the service it automatically installs to update itself so uninstalled that.I find Opera very quick but a little annoying; have it on my usb though. Firefox is great though not as quick as opera never had any prolems with memory leaks. I'd use Chromium but theres no add blocker for it. SRWare Iron is Chromium with an add blocker very fast very good.

It's curious you should say that. Most speed comparisons I've seen put Safari 4 near the top, or at the top. SRWare Iron uses Apple's Webkit rendering engine, just as Safari does.
Acid test is all well and good but as M$ have proven standards aren't that important 93/100 is just nit picking.

The people behind Firefox are diligently working towards raising Firefox's score, so I think they disagree with you.

And how have MS "proven standards aren't that important"?
The addons for firefox are what the apps are for the iphone.

Not really. A computer program and an extension for a computer program are two very different things.

But, I think I see perhaps what you're getting at.

Have just installed FF but for some reason or other it will not allow me accdess to Scrabble via Facebook. It says partial script allowed. HELP PLEASE. I play this game everyday and would rather use FF than IE to access same.

Have also added NOSCRIPT as advised by some of you. Also set FF as my default browser. So what can the problem be???????? Ok, I think I have sorted it, it had to do with Gamehouse, so I had to click to allow this app. Another problem for me is How do I transport my Favourites list from IE to FF, ?
    You live..You learn.:)

Well it was slow for me, what can you do? I just assumed it was better on OSX didn't seem to work in vista. I'm fully aware of the rendering engine of chromium and its derivatives, they seem to be using it better.

If they are they are, not everyone has to agree with me, I'm sure its top of their list for future updates.

    Internet Explorer.

Its the apps/addons that make them.

In IE, select File>Import and Export>Export to a file>Favorites>Favorites>select a location to which to export the suggested html file.

Open Firefox, select Bookmarks>Organise Bookmarks>Import and Backup>Import HTML>navigate to the above location where you saved the 'favorites' html file.
