No it isnt. Firefox 2 was, Firefox 3 has never had those memory leaks.

A quick Google suggests that while Firefox 3.x is a lot better in this regard than its predecessors, it's a bit premature to say they don't exist.

I downloaded Safari 2 months ago and found it extremely slow so uninstalled it. Google Chrome I find annoying because of the privacy issues and the service it automatically installs to update itself so uninstalled that.I find Opera very quick but a little annoying; have it on my usb though. Firefox is great though not as quick as opera never had any prolems with memory leaks. I'd use Chromium but theres no add blocker for it. SRWare Iron is Chromium with an add blocker very fast very good.

Acid test is all well and good but as M$ have proven standards aren't that important 93/100 is just nit picking. The addons for firefox are what the apps are for the iphone.

You can get a copy of Chrome from filehippo.com with the Google Update bloat stripped out. Just means you have to manually install new versions your self.

Why not use both, I do, this way I can have two separate bookmark bars for quick access to sites, must say the latest Safari is good.

I've tried and used 75% of the browsers available today, I'd say Opera and Firefox are by far the best IMO. The add-ons for firefox, make it without doubt the most secure and extensible. Fantastic add-blocking, scripting, debugging, video downloading, bookmark syncing, pdf downloading etc.

I can't remember the last time it crashed on my system either Mac OS or Windows and I often have 20-30 tabs open. It's not the most memory efficient when you start opening lots of tabs, but it's works and I love the interface.

I'm sure Safari is fine, but I don't even use it on the Mac, I just prefer the consistency of FF over both platforms, where I can have all the same add-ons running.

I'm using 3.5.3 and pages render pretty quickly, never had a problem.

As others say, download and try them.

Thanks I didn't know but it still leaves the privacy issues. I'm currently testing out OtWeb which out of the box is brilliant for privacy and compares well with other browsers.

However Firefox is really the clear winner.

I am also interested in the answer to the above question. I fell in love with Google chrome as I find it to be the quickest, most reliable and most convenient web browser. But if there are security issues, i'd like to know!
Try to imagine nothing ever existed...

This article is a year old, but highlights some of the original issues with Chrome last year, "privacy" wise.
