  • Does anyone know if any browser other than FF has 'restore last tab' addons or built in? Find that one an absolute lifesaver.

I think I have to agree with virtually everybody else on here the only way to go is Firefox.
Internet Explorer 8 has more holes than a proverbial colander.
Google chrome , has shall we say certain privacy issues.
and Opera has never seemed to work that well for me.

Add to that the scripts that you can install with Firefox to me it is a no-brainer.

Safari has a "reopen last closed window" option in the History menu.

"Virtually everybody else on here" is not recommending Firefox.

Safari, Chrome, and Opera all have their advocates.

    Hi all,

    I am confused now!!!!

I have Vista, does this make a difference??

Also I am not sure when I used FF before that I used any add-ons except for the one that let me use IE if I wanted??

Another thing I wondered today...I have had my Lap top nearly a year now...When should I think about replacing the battery???

How do I transport my Favourites list from IE to FF, ?

Another method to import favourites is the following:

in Firefox go to File-> Import... (there you get an option to import Favourites from IE and Opera)

Download Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera, then use each for a week. In a month's time, you'll be able to authoritatively state which browser you like best. When it comes down to it, only your opinion matters; none of us are going to be using your computer.

Replace your battery whenever it doesn't offer acceptable performance.

Not really, all the browsers mentioned in the posts will have a Vista version.

Possibly there is an "IE Tab" extension in Firefox.

It depends on wether you use your laptop on the move and require a long battery life. I would consider changing mine when it lasts less than 20/15 minutes, however I mostly use the laptop at home (so always near a power switch  ).
