Absolutely fuming with school!!

Nice / lovely lads :rotfl:
My son was a 'lovely and nice boy', until he was getting skitted at and goaded for days by one lad who was much bigger than him.
The bigger lad started shoving my son one day and if there is one thing my son hates, it's being embarrassed in front of people he knows.
So son had enough and knocked 10 bells out of him.
School called straight away, had me in and said they would never have imagined he would have done something like that. They were horrified infact. He had to do his work on his own in a room for a week. He took his punishment and that was the end of it.
Of course it was sons fault , he had injured another boy. Not to mention that he was getting skitted at and goaded (bullied some might say?).
Son isn't such a lovely boy anymore (in their eyes, not mine!) but it just goes to show that a child can be capable of almost anything, even if they are sickly sweet according to school.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Taken to the extreme, you could say that most rapists and child abusers do not go around being offensive and upsetting people in authority. They act normally and pleasantly to those around them.
That's how they get away with it.0 -
The way I read it was that they had spoken to the daughter and her friend and just said that the boys were nice boys. I think the school should have spoken seriously to both boys, individually and asked whether it was them and if not who it was. They should also have spoken to anyone else who was around at them time or who was identified by any of the four they interviewed.
TBH only a small number of people could have been close enough to do this at the time so if it wasn't one of these two boys they should have been aware of someone else close enough to reach.
It sounded to me as though they had interviewed the two girls who had been unable to say for sure who did it and so they pretty much dropped it there especially as the two boys who were nearby were nice kids.
It's extremely likely it was one of the two boys, but without knowing for sure and without one of them confessing to it there's not much more you can do.0 -
Regarding the lack of phone calls regarding the touching followed by a phone call regarding the straps, I'd be on the phone bellowing at the HOY at the top of my voice. No mercy.0

You'd have to catch her first, mate!0 -
TBH I'd be bypassing the HOY and leaving a message for the Head to say that as the school obviously doesn't have or isn't following appropriate procedures to deal with assault you're at the point of ringing the LEA.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Didn't read all inbetween as I'm a late commer.
Go to the police.
Shame the school for not taking action.
The contact the education authority & tell them you had to invole the police as the school wouldn't take it seriously.0 -
I'm really not one for going over the heads of people and usually I'd be the first to say to give the school a chance. But I'd be straight on to the police if I were you. It's obvious thast the school have no desire to do anything and even if the only thing you achieve is scaring the school, at least they'd take any other instances more seriously in the future (heaven forbid).
I'm sorry, but it's completely unacceptable that a Year 10 would do this to such a young girl and it stinks the school have done the whole "nice lad" routine on you. Even if you don't go to the police, threaten them with it. And go to the Head: cut out the middlemen.MFW 2019#24 £9474.89/£11000 MFW 2018#24 £23025.41/£15000

It's extremely unlikely anyone is going to be blamed for this - at the end of the day there will be no proof. The school's communication is an entirely different matter and should be dealt with internally between the parents and school. The Police won't touch this with a barge pole for the same reasons the school hasn't found anyone responsible.0

Regardless of whether the school, or anyone else, is able to ID the perpetrator there is obviously a problem with the school's internal procedures. Quite simply, the HOY should have taken the situation seriously and should have communicated with the OP appropriately. The HOY has failed on both counts and the Head hasn't intervened so it's entirely appropriate to go to the LEA.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan
