Thanks! To be honest, she's fine, but the longer this goes on and the more they pull her out of lessons, the more the kids are likely to gossip and then she just may be unhappy.

They don't tell me their titles when they ring, I only know HOY is HOY because she was at the parents evening we went to when DD was starting at the school.

We never had all that at school, that's why it's confusing. We had form tutor, head of year, then headmaster! :)

Oh I know! They tried to call me a Pastoral Management Leader (or something) at one point. I rebelled :p

    Hi

I don't know much about this age group as my twin DD's are in primary, but I wouldn't bother with either of these 2 teachers. I would go to the headteacher and let them decide who should investigate etc (it seems both teachers don't know how to handle it and realise it could be very sensitive for the school). I would probably report it to the police as a precaution too.

Good luck. Hugs to your DD. I think you have been very controlled (I would have been one of the parents who went mental!!!), but you now need to be firm and take no more rubbish from them.

  • I can't quite believe that the school aren't making some sort of investigation. The fact that your daughter can't say for sure who did it doesn't mean that things should stop there, they school should at least be questionning some of the other pupils who were there. If they can't get to the bottom of it fair enough, but they should at least be assuring you and your daughter that they have done their best.

I can't really offer any advice but just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and your family. You are a wonderful mum and good on you for sticking with it. I really hope you get things sorted.

    Unbloodybelievable!

Just spoke to Mrs R (the teacher who rang me yesterday, the one who sounded as if she actually cared) and said did I still want a meeting with HOY.

I said Yes, I spoke to you yesterday and told you that.

She said she spoke to HOY about it but HOY said the male teacher was going to ring me back yesterday instead. (Why???)

Told Mrs R that he didn't, but he did this morning. She couldn't believe it.

I said that this morning I rang again and left a message with reception for HOY and receptionist told me that she had just spoken to HOY but she was in a meeting but would ring me back.

Mrs R just said Noooo, reception didn't speak to HOY this morning, they spoke to me but it was me in a meeting! Why?? Why tell me otherwise?? Why come back and say 'I've just spoken to HOY and she will call you today'........are they all thick or what?!

I just laughed down the phone to Mrs R and said "See what I mean about communication?!" and she could do nothing but totally agree with me.

Anyway, Mrs R was ringing to tell me that HOY could see me at 8.40 in the morning so I said that's fine (although I can't see why HOY couldn't ring me back to tell me, because Mrs R also said that HOY was speaking with DD earlier!!! !!!!!! ring ME, leave DD out of it now!!!!).

So I've just rang OH to tell him to let the office know he will be late in the morning, which he has done and they are fine with it, so he will be coming with me!

I'll see what's happened with DD when she comes home, then I'll get on the PC (on lappy at moment) and print all my notes off to take with us.

Unless something has happened with DD today,I'll update tomorrow after the meeting.

Meant to say, if I'm not happy with the meeting, I'll be asking for a meeting then with the assistant head, then I'll carry on to the deputy, then the main man if needs be.

Thanks for all your kind words xx

So sorry to hear your daughter went through this. I hope you have managed to arrange a meeting with the school to at least discuss the procedure even if they can't catch who did it!
  • TBH I'd be going over the head of the HoY by now, it sounds like she is desparate to pass the buck.

Ask to speak to the deputy head. They clearly have no system in place to deal with parents in relation to school incidents.

I don't really see what other investigation they can do. They've questioned the OP's daughter and both of the boys who she mentioned and nothing has come up. What other investigation do you expect them to do?

The only issue I can really see is the lack of communication, you should have been kept much better informed than you were. They really need to sit you down and offer an apology for this.

I had my penis groped by a few of the girls in my class on several occassions, so I know how upsetting such instances can be. Hope your Daughter is ok.

The way I read it was that they had spoken to the daughter and her friend and just said that the boys were nice boys. I think the school should have spoken seriously to both boys, individually and asked whether it was them and if not who it was. They should also have spoken to anyone else who was around at them time or who was identified by any of the four they interviewed.

TBH only a small number of people could have been close enough to do this at the time so if it wasn't one of these two boys they should have been aware of someone else close enough to reach.

It sounded to me as though they had interviewed the two girls who had been unable to say for sure who did it and so they pretty much dropped it there especially as the two boys who were nearby were nice kids.
