lol why thank you for being so condescending
the fact is its about freeing up resources on the DB
given you are a self professed 'real' comper im sure you can see how all those 80,000 subscriptions would be a drain on the resources of the forum?
how many of those 80,000 are live comps?
however if im expempt from comment from not being in the club then feel free to further exclude me

Hmm, I can understand the need to free up space, but also like to refer back to threads to which I have an interest, and have therefore subscribed to.

I don't think I'll have any problems with competitions which have been moved to game over for a while, but would hate to lose subscriptions to "live" competitions; some of which may have an end date 12 months in advance. I couldn't possibly bookmark them all - I don't know what the answer is; suppose I just hate change :o
    I'm a nutter :j

Great idea to get rid of some of the old subscriptions. I'm a comper as well and (sorry) have over 40,000  I've been wondering how I can clear some of the old ones.

The main problem I'm going to have is that some of the comps I've subscribed to (so I know I've entered) are still current even though I subscribed back in January.

    EDC x

Hi I am new to comping and was wondering why everyone keeps subscribed to the competition after the closing date. Could we not just every now and again have a look at our subscribed threads and delete the ones that are game over.

Please correct me if I am talking nonsesne lol

you are not talking nonsense MRS T what you propose is a very good idea

Munchkim has has previously suggested deleting subscriptions when comps are moved to GAME OVER see #15

I think that it is/would be too time consuming for mser's to manually delete subscribed threads in GAME OVER

probably would be easier for everyone if they could automatically delete all subscribed threads when the comps are moved to GAME OVER?

If I where condescending towards you it is was because I found your comment downright rude, tactless, derogatory and inconsiderate to say the least,

everyone is free to make comment, as this is an open forum, and I wouldn't dream of trying to exclude you or anyone else for that matter in open debate,

howether it seems to me that you are against open debate and constructive criticism and would prefer to be negative and deconstructive, this has been proven by calling fellow Mser's "moaners" who unlike you actually know what they are talking about and who are only trying to further the debate

alright now, wipe the froth off the PC
again how many of your precious 80,000 subscriptions are for live comps?

I do not use subscriptions as I prefer to thank each and every comp as a means of tracking my entries

    A better solution
if there was a button you could click on to say that you have entered a comp and this put a little tick on the main page then mser's wouldn't need to subscribe to every thread thereby freeing the much needed resources

this would also be hugely beneficial to everyone on mse who regularly enter competitions as they would be able to see at a glance from the main page which comps they have entered without clicking on multiple links only to find that they have already entered
