Munchkim's idea is good, having a facility to remove the subscription once the comp is in game over, that would work for me. Or perhaps, and I don't know if there can be a facility specifically for the comps/freebies boards, whereby a "completed" or "entered" button on the op would make the subscribed "tick" or similar appear on the thread.
  • Another comper coming out of the woodwork:

I use subscriptions to keep tabs on all the comps I WANT to enter, and then remove my subscription once I've entered. I've got around 1,000 threads on the go at any one time...

PS Webby, does this mean that we'll start getting email notifications for those threads for which we've requested them? Eg weekly updates etc for some, daily for others, as I've not had any for months!!

Whilst the subscriptions are being sorted out can we have an alphabetical search or something in our own accounts so we can find subscriptions easier please? as sometimes its hard to find them or remember what part of the forum they were especially if they are older or are in a fast moving forum section
    Thanx

Does this mean that the User CP panel won't show the threads we have posted on, unless we change something in our profile? I didn't know there was any function about subscriptions in profile, must have a look...
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

Dear MSE Webmaster, I have never subscribed to a thread and don't intend to start, but while you're making changes, what about the problem of visitors who reactivate dormant threads at random. Today there was at least one FIVE YEAR old thread where some random American added a post for no reason. So of course we waste time reading old contributions (unless you happen to notice the date) all because of some xxxx who found the thread via a search engine.

The discussion a few months ago was to lock (preventing new posts) by default any threads where no post had been added for some months. Any news?
