Opposite Sex Friends?

I have 1 true female friend and a lot more male friends
My husband has no issues with that... We both still talk to our ex's, infact mine is referred to as my straight gay mate
Unlike my husband he'll put up with clothes shopping, he'll tell me my backside looks big and he'll tell me I don't look great: "go put some slap on, you look like you've been dragged backwards through the bushes woman!" - where my husband would tell me I look wonderful to him...
Should my husband feel threatened by him or any of my other male friends? Why??? If I wanted to go behind his back I'd certainly not be daft enough to flaunt it in his face
More to the point - I never felt that comfy in the company of women... I find them on the whole to be too back stabbing for my liking - I'd rather talk about cars, engines and a whole host of bloke topics than so and so's dress, their hair, cost of make up, or other things I have NO interest in...
I'm slowly finding other girls with the same interests as me and building up friendships with them - but it will take time
Until then I'll continue to be friends with who I like based on them and not their gender

I have a straight gay mate who sounds a lot like yours MrsT! He's exactly the same with the shopping, and to this day he is the only person to ever get away with poking me and referring to my tummy as "cider belly" when we were at V Festival.Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

both me and OH work in a school - a predominatley female environment. my OH regularly goes on the girly nights out, tho does get bit hacked off taking the role of male protector of whoever gets far too drunk to look after themselves! he has on occasion rolled in at stupid o clock steaming drunk and irritating the pants off me (not literally when he's in that state!)
I have no problem with him going out with a group of women whatsoever. he is not a 'blokey' man anyway - can't stand football, doesn't leer after women and computer games bore him senseless.0 -
Of course it's 'all down to trust' I used to trust my Ex until I discovered that his female friend was actually his mistress.
Which is why I don't trust next husband quite so much, sad I know but we learn from experience!Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -
better to trust and be wrong than not trust at all0

I'm confused. I hope the OP means he's living with a partner and their daughter. It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical0 -
I have 3 male friends who are some of my closest friends. One has been around for over 10 years and when I met my now boyfriend it was 'if you want to be with me you have to accept Ben is going to be around'. Luckily boyfriend didnt mind

One of my male friends I love to bits, but neither of us fancy each other. Unfortunately his ex hated me and we ended up stopping seeing each other as she made his life a nightmare. 2 months ago I got a call saying they had split up, he missed me and could we meet for a drink. So glad Ive got him back as his girlfriend was a cow anyway, lol.
I get on better with men, so I love my male friends

I'm in a co-habiting relationship with a school-aged daughter from my current relationship.
Would it be alright for a "wife" to have a lesbian friend or a "husband" to have a gay friend?0 -
I don't see why not pssst, my OH has gay friends. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, he's straight and I know itScar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0
