I got a reply to my rather firmly worded letter saying that I didn't receive my fuel vouchers within the agreed time (errrrmmm, that's your fault though, innit?) and that they have been reissued (I presume they actually mean 'issued') by first class post and they should arrive within 10-14 days. Letter was dated 18th February....no sign of them yet. They've given me a link on the HD website where I can read about all the hoops you have to jump through to get the vouchers...totally ridiculous...you can claim your vouchers if you only bought petrol on odd days of the month....that coincided with a full moon...and both your first and last name begins with V...I'm not holding my breath on this one. Gits :mad:

  • Don't give up everyone! We had a letter today saying that although we had previously been refused for sending the claim in too early, they value our custom and enclosing a cheque for £30! :j
I am going to cash it today to make sure it doesn't bounce!
So keep trying and don't let them con you out of what is rightfully yours!

A while back, I emailed Hastings numerous times about not having received my petrol vouchers but was getting nowhere. Then out of the blue the other day got a letter from them saying my emails are being treated as a complaint. I've had 4 letters from them in as many days. The 3rd enclosed a £5 cheque by way of apology and reimbursement of phone call costs (I've never phoned them). The 4th arrived yesterday with the petrol 'vouchers'. It all seems designed to prevent you being able to reclaim the £30 as I have only until the end of February (tomorrow) to buy my first lot of petrol - a very good job I haven't filled up in the last few days!

I have just received a letter from Hastings apologising and telling me they are going to send me £5 and the vouchers. If the terms are the same as the previous poster and the first one has to be in by the end of Feb I'm going to be irritated

Link to the Terms and Conditions Here Note they have to be VAT receipts some supermarkets don't give these unless asked

Well, I am stuffed as well, as I have still not received any fuel vouchers, despite being promised them with the letter they sent with the £5 cheque !

On a different note, still have not had my £55 quidco validated with them either. Had to send an earnings enquiry via quidco. A few days after, quidco emailed me saying I had to tell them my car registration number as Hastings couldn't find my insurance details even though they had my policy number !

I really do hope I don't an accident, as if all this is anything to go by.......

I still haven't had my fuel vouchers either. If the first one does have to be in by end of February, I'm stuffed. I've rang up at least four times, wrote a letter, was promised vouchers over and over...no vouchers come...this really is carp :(

My quidco cashback has validated though, but it's not paying out very fast at all.

Don't let them get away with it!

If they have "frustrated" the conditions of the deal by not supplying the vouchers in time, then take them all the way!

It seems they aren't liking the bad publicity over this - so keep at them!
  • The 3 rules of complaining. Be polite, be factual and succinct, and go straight to the top. "Hastings wanting nothing to do with it" is not good enough!

I've only realised today that I'm going to have to fight to get my £30. So I've contacted today the Financial ombudsman : financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints Who will issue a complaint on your behalf but it doesn't speed up the process. Hastings still have 56 days to reply with a final response to your complaint. I've not found an acceptable email address (I looked high and low, they have an automatic complaint form on the website obviously) so the land mail address at Conquest House, Collington Avenue, Bexhill-on-Sea, TN39 3LW will have to do. I'll be sending my complaint to Sue Levett (as will the ombudman, a belt and braces aproach;)) Edward Firtmaurice is C.E.O. I believe (after a Management buy out last year)

If you are not happy with Hastings response then you still have 6 months to refer your complaint to the ombudsman. :j

People dont take this lying down! Remember Hoover (they offered free flights to New York worth £300 if you bought a £100 hoover and were surprised when everyone and his dog bought one)(I know £300 to get to New York but it was the 90's)

I don't intend to! I wrote a very firmly worded letter and copied in Watchdog :o I thought seeing as there are a number of us with the same issue, they may be interested and it might spur HD into action.

I'm not at home at the moment, so don't know if the vouchers have arrived yet. If they haven't I'll need to consider my next steps.

My hubby rang again today, was told they were having to reprint all the vouchers so will be with us shortly, yea right. Like the sound of sending them all a letter with watchdag copied in, enough people do that we will soon all have £30.

I am certanly doing that next anyone else?
