Just a quick post to say grrr arggggg grrrr . I'm so annoyed with myself, I went out last night and when I came home I had a chow mein at 11pm! Why??? I've been to the gym twice this week and ran twice and then I do something daft to ruin it all. I just hope my exercise is enough to burn it off over the week.

What annoys me is the way I mentaly rationalise it: I'll be thinking, I need to get up for work in 7 hrs and I'm a bit tipsy so if I don't eat I wont sleep and I'll have a hangover and really, it's only a little chow mein and I have it dry so that will lose calories and I am feeling thinner.

    And then afterwards just idiot.

I'm off to the gym at lunch now to something called Pump FX that sounds like it will scare the fat right off my thighs!

Tonight I very nearly had a piece of yesterdays comfort cake provided by naighbours. I even got a knife out of the drawer. Then I thought of this months target, of you lot, and I put the knife away and went upstairs. :)

You know what, its 3/4 of an hour ago...and the craving has gone. :)

Seriously well done!! I need to remember this, it's hardly rocket science is it! Just walk away from the chow mein bunny!

Ah but Dr Dragon is not a medical doctor he is a proper doctor! PhD in Chemical Engineering as opposed to medical doctors who claim a title of Dr with their first degree

Totally agree - My OH is a PhD Biochemist and he's much cleverer! I guess that makes him a Dr Bunny? teehee!

    I've been Money Tipped!
At least noodles have the right GI, don't they? :)

You know what, I feel so much better today than yesterday (day before yesterday I did have comfort cake). Despite worrying I wasn't getting much sleep I did wake up refreshed, with energy and not feeling guilty. It makes a huge difference.

In terms of calories the drinks that made you tipsey might have been the worst offender. 150 calories glass of red wine. Chow Mein probably about 300 (may be you really needed to eat that).
Hit the reset button, tommorrow is another day and you could have pulled those excess calories back by this time next week :)

I am loving all the stories of halos and walking away from comfort cakes!!! :D Well done!

Maybe we should post here every time we resist temptation - as a little reward for doing so and to encourage each other.

I really want a biscuit right now and my colleague has just offered me one with my cup of green tea. But I said no. I've had 250g of low fat Greek yogurt and 2 Brazil nuts and that will do me for breakfast. Willpower is my middle name (snigger)!

p.s. spugzbunny, don't beat yourself up about the chow mein... just get on with today and concentrate on the big picture xoxoxo

First weigh in of the month today and I've lost 1lb :)

Not as much as normal but I'm still happy - my eating last Thurs/Fri/Sat was a bit chaotic cos of being on a work trip. I was as good as I could be (ok maybe I did have a few glasses of wine :o) but I do find it hard when you can't actually control what you're cooking and eating yourself. Also I think I've accidentally had something with milk in - god knows where from but I've got a killer headache and am so bloaty and that can't have helped with the weightloss.

I haven't posted in here for a few days so apologies if I miss anyone/anything but:

Welcome to everyone who's signed up this month and good luck!

Adrian - that belt photo is brilliant :D Keep on posting in here, you're always full of good advice and it's great to chat with people who've managed to do what we're all trying so hard to achieve.

lostinrates - well done on resisting temptation :T Sorry to hear about your poor chicken.

Dragon - flipping heck, that sounds like a complicated situation! Hope you manage to find something that works for you soon.

Bronnie - hope you're managing to avoid those rich tea biccies :D

hethmar - you've made my mouth water with that description! I'm well impressed that you managed not to buy anything.

spugzbunny - don't beat yourself up too much. Sounds like you're doing tons of exercise so it should all balance out in the end.

tara - you sound really determined this month :D

Well, tara willpower 747, good for you!

This months challenge WILL see me cross a stone mark into the next stone down. I'm really excited about that.

I think the idea to keep a bag with the weight we lose in it is valuable. I knew a woman who lost weight and put the weight in a rucksack and used to go out cycling with that on, so she got the benefits of carrying more weight for excercise (i.e. more calorie expenditure for the same amount of work as a lighter person). not sure how that would work. One of my concerns is muscles, I have got really chuncky calf muscles now, from hulking myself about, and I'm worried they'll never go back down:o carrying weight it seems would slow down any reduction in that.
  • Well I survived the work do! Had the lighter options of the buffet like the salad and 2 little beef sandwiches and did not to pile my plate up!:j

My next challenge is to not scoff the chocolates I won on the raffle lol!
I have allowed myself 2 because if I don't have a little treat then I will probably end up scoffing the lot when I am desperate!!:o:p

Off to the gym tonight and then probably play on the wii fit too because me and my sister are competing on who can get the best hula hoop score lmao!:rotfl:

I shall be thinking of you tara when I am tempted by the chocolates lol!
Don't worry about your chow mein spugz (can't help but think spagz lol) all that exercise you are doing means it will soon be a thing of the past!

Have a good Friday everybody! :T

I think I am up to date with adding everybody to the list and at this rate we will not be losing a toddler, nor a teenager, we will be losing an adult female!

I didn't have such a good day yesterday, I was worried about the Furry Dragon (with cause poor wee lad has an infection!) and so couldn't face lunch, I only just managed to get over the 1,000 kcal mark! (1,016 :o), today should be better though and I may need food after I have fought his medication down him! So far today 367 kcals and counting :D
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D
