    I've been Money Tipped!
Steph, although I know its not ideal I sometimes have a larger meal in the evening. I try and keep it veg based (steamed cabbage features hevily ATM) and to nibble through the day so that its not stop start with, say 20% calories am then 80% in one swoop, having say 50% through the dy and 50% at night, but it doesn't always work out. In essence I guess thats what all the two bowls of cereal/two shakes and an evening meal diets are based on.

    So just quickly.

Adrian - that belt photo is brilliant :D
Lost patience with my 36" waiste trousers this morning. They were a tight fit in February, today so much material bunched up under the belt (a smaller one than in that photo) that they were really uncomfortable.
Round to M&S got my waiste measure and bought myself a pair of..... 32" waiste trousers :D
The worlds going to fall off it's axis, a man actually enjoyed cloths shopping today :rotfl:. Wasn't easy finding a pair of 32" waiste 33" inside leg truosers, still managed to complete the shopping trip inside 7 minutes 30 seconds though ;)

First weigh in of the month today and I've lost 1lb :)

Welcome to everyone who's signed up this month and good luck!

tara - you sound really determined this month :D

WELL DONE on the 1lb loss despite being on a work trip, that's great going! :T

Yes, I do feel more determined this month than usual, I think the WW 3 month trial has something to do with it. Maybe it's cos I'm paying for it (ok 5p!) or tracking points or whatever, but I am definitely more conscious of what I'm eating than usual. Who knows. Anyway, I have had a so-so day, not great but not terrible either.
Well, tara willpower 747, good for you!

This months challenge WILL see me cross a stone mark into the next stone down. I'm really excited about that.

I think the idea to keep a bag with the weight we lose in it is valuable. I knew a woman who lost weight and put the weight in a rucksack and used to go out cycling with that on, so she got the benefits of carrying more weight for excercise (i.e. more calorie expenditure for the same amount of work as a lighter person). not sure how that would work. One of my concerns is muscles, I have got really chuncky calf muscles now, from hulking myself about, and I'm worried they'll never go back down:o carrying weight it seems would slow down any reduction in that.

That bag idea sounds good, I am going to do it! :T When I was thinner, I used to power walk with weights to make my body work harder and it seemed to work.

Don't worry about your calf muscles, just carry on with exercise (maybe read up on which types won't bulk them up too much) and you will be fine xo

Don't worry about your chow mein spugz (can't help but think spagz lol) all that exercise you are doing means it will soon be a thing of the past!

    xxx

Congrats on surviving the work do and your restraint with the chocs!!! I am flattered to be a role model of willpower but really I think there are far more deserving people on here (i.e. just about everyone! :o ).

Good for you going to the gym on a Friday night too, that's dedication! :j

Morning all! Its just took me 20 mins to catch up with the thread!!! You are a crazy lot :rotfl:. But i do love reading what your upto.

Well, I had my 1st weigh in of October and sad to say i put on 2lbs  - which comes as no surprise to me as i've been a very hungry girl! I just can't seem to control my hunger! I had a good couple of day's earlier this week, and today is going ok, so far, so i'm hoping that it continues!
I an back under the 4st AGAIN, just can't seem to get past it!!
I REALLY must find away! Any suggestion??

It's my DS's 3rd birthday this weekend so there is going to be cake, cake and more cake.....arrrhhh! Here we go again! September saw hubby's birthday and mine and now DS's - what am I going to do?

I havent been swimming either, and not exercising much either! DS starts pre school on monday for three mornings a week, so will have to do extra walking, so this is good, gonna try to fit in a swim if i can too!

So October starting weight 19st 11lb's

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL! :A

ps. Dragon thanks for adding me!

poshstock666, good to see you! I have gained weight too, let's gee each other up to do better!

It's hard to cope with socialising and family stuff (and even eating with your OH - mine is a right foodie) while losing weight. I read someone saying elsewhere that you just have to decide that you are now a thin person, you think like a thin person and you make thin person food choices. And just say to yourself 'I don't eat sausage rolls/prawn toast/chicken goujons/cake/biscuits/whatever', just like smokers are encouraged to say 'I don't smoke' from the word go - to get their subconscious used to the fact that they don't smoke. It's supposed to take away having to make choices on each occasion - you just remind yourself that you don't eat that sort of stuff now. I thought about it for a while and it does actually make sense. I'm going to do it myself. HTH anyway, sorry for the ramble!

Hi I had, 1 small bowl 45g of shreddies with semi skimmed milk

I didn't have time for lunch

Then I had 1 small tin of Cream of Chicken soup heinz and 2 slices of brown bread

    I was hungry at 8:30

So I had another small bowl 45g of shreddies with semi skimmed milk

I didn't put sugar on them either which I normally do :(

And I had 3 cups of tea which normally I have about 8 or 9 I drunk 4 pints of water instead.

    Today so far I've had

1 small bowl of shreddies 45g with semi skimmed milk

    and 2 cups of tea

I'm not feeling hungry yet because I'm drinking the water but might have tinned tomatoes on toast for lunch if I have enough time.

    Steph xx

Tinned tomatoes on toast, not you too! It sounds a bit... soggy! :rotfl:

That is a very low calorie diet if you don't mind me saying so Steph... and there is a severe lack of nutrients e.g. protein, fruit, veg. You are doing great with the water and your fibre and calcium consumption is excellent but you do need other stuff too. Hope I don't sound like an interfering busybody, I am saying it all for your own good :o xoxo

I think I am up to date with adding everybody to the list and at this rate we will not be losing a toddler, nor a teenager, we will be losing an adult female!

I didn't have such a good day yesterday, I was worried about the Furry Dragon (with cause poor wee lad has an infection!) and so couldn't face lunch, I only just managed to get over the 1,000 kcal mark! (1,016 :o), today should be better though and I may need food after I have fought his medication down him! So far today 367 kcals and counting :D

:rotfl:at losing an adult female!!! Hope it's not me!

I hope you ate over 1,000 cals today Dragon! *stern glare*

I think this is part of the challenge that will face us, for...well, the rest of our lives. We have to learn to budget out calories (or however you are losing weight) by careful eating and/or exercise to deal with this at every event otherwise the weight will just creep back on. There is no hrm in a piece of cake once in a whille ...but the cake and more cake we have to forgo I think. Life doesn't stop, now while we on our weightloss diets, or after wards while we are maintaining, so we have to work these things into life.

Luckily you are planning ahead, so youcan think about a good option for food and exercise for the rest of that day/the days surrounding it so that the cake is colorifically budgeted for!

What a lovely post and a nice budgeting analogy - very appropriate for MSE! :D I am almost tempted to change the name of the site to caloriesavingexpert.com!

You are totally right of course, gosh darn it this thread is so full of wisdom...

I am SHOCKED! I just hopped on the scales to find...I've lost 8lbs in just over a week (trying to only weigh myself once a week), WHAAAAAAAAT?!!

Admittedly I have been eating a lot less and I assume that this is just a first week thing and I won't continue to lose anything like that but I'm amazed! Especially since yesterday was one of those days where I just grazed and grazed and grazed, luckily on quite healthy stuff rather than biscuits, bombay mix and crisps though.

Basically I've stopped snacking, decreased my portion sizes, stopped eating ready meals and have cut out tea, cheese, mayo and chocolate. The cheese bit is by far the hardest, I love it! If I do feel the need to snack, I've got rice cakes, seafood sticks, cherry tomatoes and strawberries to munch on. It is a bit "funless" but my boyfriend is helping me, he's being quite strict!

Oh and keeping a food diary is helping too - I thought I'd had a "bad" day yesterday but after writing it down I saw that I had eaten more, but it was all low calorie, healthy stuff. In the same vein I don't want "naughty" food blighting my diary :-)

I'm eating so much seafood stuff, my flatmate's joking that I have the diet of a seal, lol!

Absolute disaster last night, really fell off the wagon.
3 cans of lager, a lamb rogan josh followed by ICE CREAM.

Went for a good long 50 minute fast walk today and a 40 minute non-stop swim.

Next WI is not `til Thusday so hopefully have balanced things out.
