Issues already with who to invite to wedding- ARGH

I'm sort of stuck in the same situation, my OH has quite a large family his mum has 2 sisters and 3 brothers and his dad has 4 sisters and 3 brothers but his dad doesn't really talk to any of his family and his mum one of her brothers live abroad. Then theres 2 nanas and 1 grandad. He also has a sister with 3 kids.

I on the other hand have my mum with 5 brothers and sisters with only 2 she talks to. I don't speak to my biological dad so won't be inviting any of his family or him but I have a step dad and we don't really talk to his family either they are weird. I have a brother and 1 niece.

We don't really have many friends between us maybe 3-4 close friends. But that's about it. I wanted a really nice wedding with everyone there but looking at the amount of family and friends that are going to be there I think we will end up with a small wedding

To the OP it's your day hun do what you want and sod the MIL!

i cant believe that some people think they have a right or a say in someone elses plans for their own life. its not your MILs day its yours. if she is going to be grumpy about who you havent invited i would not be holding it at her house, go to a registry office and then go down the pub
