I think you should try and charge him rent for the garage, that should offset some of your costs.

Just adding my best wishes and good luck to you as well.

My ex asked if he was entitled to half my house when we split as he'd bought the rolls of wallpaper for the lounge! :rotfl: We did live together but in a different, rented property. Bloomin' cheek and the answer was a big fat NO!!

    (((HUGS))) what an !!!!!!!!
You really need to dig up as much dirt on him as pos, perhaps even contact the girl he ran off with, i'm sure she's prob mad at him... you really need to build your case up, dont just leave it to the solicitor, i really hope the jury see's through him!
Get your solicitor to ask for receipts, bank statements if he says he paid for the garage.
do you have any receipts for the materials, credit card statements, etc?
check out the http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/, although its about consumer stuff there maybe a few people on there that can help build your case.

best wishes and please keep us updated!

Oh guys - he's being reported to the IR the trading standards you name it - after the court case of course ;-) he has done such a shoddy job with the work he has done that ive taken pics of it for evidence. I have got witnesses, some of which were his friends, I have done absolutely everything I can think of so....... except the hitman option ! oh btw if you live down this neck of the woods dont ever get a long haired irishman with a beaten up white van called gerry to do any work for you...............
