Haven't seen it but, the film you refer to might be 'FairyTale: A True Story' (1997).

There is a book called 'The Case of the Cottingley Fairies'.

    HTH

Spot on Tibbs my old mate. I do recommend it, an intriguing story; a film for all age groups.

    FairyTale http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119095/

I still haven't seen this film but Atonement is supposed to be very good. It's a 15 certificate so it might be borderline.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0783233/

The other Fairy film is Photographing Fairies but I don't think they are about the same subject after all. Still a good film though.

However, it does have a specific scene that would not be suitable for young children.

Some crackers there. I rememb watching Robert Powell in The Thirty Nine Steps on a flight to New York, it was the first thing I'd enjoyed him in. I'm a fan now.

Talking of Hitchock and I was only talking to some people about these recently, I loved Rear Window - James Stewart 1954

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047396/

And the remake starring Christopher Reeve. This had the extra twist (for want of a better word) in that Chris Reeve was paralyised in real life.

Johnny Depp in Sleepy Hollow is a fave of mine. What kids don't love a good decapitation or three :rotfl:

I think I've squeezed the last out of my moth-eaten brain for now.:(

Pooch, you just have to watch Atonement. It's such a good film. Brilliantly acted.

I know and I'm sure I was going to see it last year and it clashed with a preview. I think it was part of The Polo Film Festival showing at Picturehouse @ FACT towards the end of last year.

I loved a film called Sunshine Cleaning, again it's a 15 and might be borderline. Great subject for a film though.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0862846/

I think this might be a PG but another film with an appealling storyline imo is Imagine That

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0780567/

For the footie fans, maybe Looking For Eric

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1242545/

Can't see the certificate for this one

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421715/

    The Young Victoria

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0962736/

And my final contribution for the time being and ties in with the Rocky films mentioned earlier

    Son of Rambow

I've seen all but the last two. I started to watch The Young Victoria, but was interrupted watching it and never got round to finishing it.

£5.50 instead £20 for two tickets to any feature, any day plus drinks and popcorn each at Woolton Picture House - Save 73%

Why spend a fortune at the soulless multiplexes, when you could get a brilliant two person deal for cinema, popcorn and drink in beautiful, historic surroundings? Woolton Picture House is a cinema gem hidden away in the heart of picturesque Woolton Village, Liverpool since the 1920s. Unique in appearance with a traditional art deco auditorium this amazing single screen picture house hosts 256 classic pull-man armchairs and provides an original, comfortable and cosy environment to unwind and enjoy your film. A popular family favourite the cinema shows all of the latest mainstream releases using the latest in digital theatre sound technology, as well as films for senior audiences and children's matinees every weekend.
Friendly staff serve a selection of confectionary and beverages inside a foyer that retains all of its original charm, including the traditional ticket machine. Ample free parking in the village car park, situated off Woolton Street, allows filmgoers from afar to come and see what's on and visit surrounding areas offering an array of restaurants, coffee shops and bars.

Steeped in nostalgia, Woolton Picture House was the childhood haunt of a famous musician by the name of John Lennon, inspiring part of the lyrics to his song 'A Day in the life'. Nicknamed 'The Bug' by Lennon and other 'Quarrymen' band members, the cinema is situated next-door to St Peters church hall, a place famed for the meeting of John Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney. Groupon absolutely loves this piece of history, contrasting wonderfully with modern, visually stunning cinema, and at £5.50 you have every excuse to check it out!

    What people are saying...
