Thanks mariauk
It's my husband and daughter who are having problems, so it's like hearing about problems in stereo - they both hate 3
I'm on orange (lent it to hubby for now though) and T mobile for incoming calls only. They're great for some reason
It's just 3
Thanks though!0 -
Handset: LG U8110
Most commonly used location: South-East, incl Canterbury.
Ease and reliability and connection: Not a bad phone, a bit bulky. My main criticism is the appalling network coverage. When I can get a signal it disappears IF I get connected, other times I get connected & within a few mins the signal has gone & so has the person I'm speaking with! No point in having a mobile if I can't rely on it. As I've experienced total unreliablity, & frustration, I've reduced my tariff & just use it for calls at home, if I can get a signal! 4 months time & contract expires. Would never recommend 3.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 1/10FAIRTRADE NOT FREE TRADE

I'm very pleased with my nec e616v and 3 network.
Not a long post but people who are pleased with 3 don't tend to shout so loudly!!!!!!!!0 -

in town, great. on the train, loses about 15 mins or so on a 45 min journey
Any other problems:
phone reboots itself from time to time
Overall service and rating (out of 10):probably about 7 out of 10, they are incredibly cheap, and though I lose some connectivity in the train, it's generally quite good.
ok, I have to revise my original comments. The service as far as I am concerned has not improved as promised, but has infact got worse.
Ease and reliability and connection:
calls drop more often than before, to an annoying level. I would be talking, and the phone hangs itself up, but when I look at the signal meter it says full signal?
The transition from 3g to 2g takes too long - why does it reboot occasionally when doing this?
In addition to this people have been trying to phone me, but instead of going to the answerphone, they get the message "The person you are calling has hung up" - not good.
The 3 network stuff is quite slow and often does not connect first time (or second or third ....)
Overall service and rating (out of 10):
I have to lower this now. I'd say about 4, maybe 3. Customer services are not good, the coverage has not improved, the calls dropped have not improved, and in general I'm just not happy with it.
I have now got so annoyed that I cut my losses and have cancelled my contract with 3 two months early and signed with orange. so far, 100% better.Reality is an illusion caused by lack of alcohol0 -
Please!! Somebody help me get out of my contract with three. Its got to be the worst network in the world. Only on month six now so even if I lowered my tariff to 500mins its going to still cost me a fortune for the remain six months, plus I get 750mins for £17.50 via rebates so there is only a few pound in it. Customer services are no help when I complain, sent an un-answered letter to the head office as well. No signal at all and i'm in a video calling area!! When I do get a signal the other end can only hear every now and then. The network is a joke!!0

PM me, I'll give you the details of the exec office. It's always worked wonders for me.0

I've been with three from the start - from my experience, the handset can be very much to do with the reception. The first NEC I had (e606) was horrific, and the motorola (can't remember the number) was a slight improvement but not great.
My LG8110 was great, and my current NEC (the slim one) is okay for reception.
I've had stress with the customer service team to the extent that I've emailed the chairman of the company twice, but they fixed it immediately once I did so.
However, for the money I've been saving (bills down from £150 to about £60) I personally believe that it's been worth it and wouldn't expect the same level of customer service as Orange or Vodafone. It's a preference, like choosing First Direct as your bank account because of the service. You ignore the trolleys in the aisle in Asda when you shop there because of the price - but you don't see them as often in Sainsbury's.
Hutchinson were the company who put together Orange before 3 - so fingers crossed.
I wouldn't leave - because of the massive savings - but if your mobile is your livelyhood, it may not be worth the risk. However, its done wonders for my social life because of my lack of restraint with the free minutes!!0 -
Oh, yes should add I use the phone in Enfield, Watford, Notting Hill & Central London with very few problems.0

Update
Keep complaining. My husband did - daily. He's now had his original phone unbarred (3 barred it for some uknown reason), and been told to keep it at no cost. They're sending him another phone and have offered him one free months rental.
Not sure if that's worth all the hassle, but hopefully, and fingers crossed, it might be the end of the whole sorry saga.0
