Three's latest trick: taking out an insurance policy (and setting up a direct debit for it) on the phone I had rejected delivery of. Apparently that could only be done via an insurance department, which of course I never spoke to. Insurance was never mentioned, in any communication: I only found out when the policy arrived.
I'm wondering how serious a breach of the law passing a customer's bank details to a third party without consent is.
Three told me on Saturday evening that the insurance dept was closed and I could call them again on Sunday. They told me on Sunday that they weren't open on Sundays, and said they'd call me back by 11am today. They didn't.
I called LSG, the insurers, and their behaviour was in marked contrast to Three's. They were very concerned, mentioning the FSA, cancelled the policy immediately and told me to cancel the direct debit, as a payment had already been requested (but wasn't due to be taken until tomorrow). They said that if the payment did happen then it would be automatically refunded (but would take up to 10 working days), and they would monitor the situation. They took details and said they would take up the matter with Three - even though I hadn't suggested this to them.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Yep they did that to me too- I rang the insurance people straight away Did'nt speak to "3"0

Handset: Sony Ericsson k600i
Most commonly used location: Home (Berkshire) and when stuck in traffic jams on M25!
Ease and reliability and connection: Fine in Berkshire but when in more rural areas like Cambridge it is very poor.
Any other problems: Here goes! Was promised an ipod nano on renewing my contract by 3 mobiles' call centre. Great! The same tariff and an ipod worth £100 - almost sounds too good to be true... that was 10/06/09 - many weeks (3 months), hours of phone calls (being put on hold and listening to the same 4 songs) and ridiculous suggestions later... e.g. the ipod voucher is with your local post office?! Which post office?; we've left a message on your home answerphone (I do not have an answerphone); It's been sent to your old address - go and introduce yourself to the new tenants and ask them for it!!! My favourite lie is 'it will be with you within 5 working days' - HA!
No ipod, rude customer advisors (I have been shouted at and laughed at), refusal to cancel my contract without penalty on the grounds of breech of contract, numerous lies and broken promises not to mention passing the buck and accusing me of lying!
It seems like a very superficial issue but I feel very stressed and angry about this situation.
Feeling very foolish for letting the promise of an ipod sway my decision, which was originally to leave 3 for Vodaphone which my boyfriend uses.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): 0/10 (for bad customer service)
Anyone have any suggestions or advice? I'm at my wit's end.0 -

Report the matter to OTELO. They are very helpful. Don't have the number at the moment but check out their website.0 -
Handset: Nokia E71- Good but crap camera and got it free because I think they made mistake.
Most commonly used location: Home and work
Ease and reliability and connection: Crap. Totally crap. Outside the signal is fine, walk into a shop in town in Worthing and I lose all signal. Take it to work and I lose all signal. Need to go to the 1st floor to get a better signal and then the 2nd floor is the best signal. Go into the basement and get nothing where as works Vodafone phone I get full signal everywhere in the building, including in the basement and server room. In the house the signal fluctuates all the time. Mostly ok but constantly up and down and then nothing, then up again etc.
Any other problems: All the above. No one in our building who is on 3 gets a good signal. As soon as my 18 month contract is up I'm shifting. Possibly to Vodafone as at least their signal is perfect at work. Signal is so poor at work, as soon as a call comes in and I answer it, it lasts about 30secs to 1min and I lose connection. Useless.
Overall service and rating (out of 10): -1 because I should get a signal inside and outside. Not just in specific locations at work or only outside. Their customer service is simply crap.0 -
Hi
Is anyone using an unlocked iPhone 3G/3GS on the 3 network? If so what are the 3G internet speeds like? I will be shortly buying an iphone 3GS from apple on O2 PAYG mainly for 3G internet use, however its been widely reported that O2's 3G coverage is pants...even in areas where their coverage map states full 3G coverage. So if i'm not happy with O2, i will get a PAYG sim from 3 and try this instead (after unlocking my iphone of course).
If it helps, i live in Westhill Inverness and putting my postcode on 3's coverage map it shows i live in a HSDPA (2G +3G+high speed internet) area...should i take this with a pinch of salt, or is this fairly accurate?
Thanks:)0
