Please do indeed, we will be happy to speak to anyone about our site (or rather our legal team will do so).
Please check the PayPal and eBay notices on individual and sole trader accounts before you publish rubbish to a public forum.
Good night3) You must include information about your business in your listings – Electronic Commerce Regulations and Distance Selling Regulations
Under the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 you must provide the following information in the Business Seller Information section of your listings, your About Me page or on a Shops page no more than one click from your main Shop page:
full contact details for your business;
details of any relevant trade organisations to which you belong;
details of any authorisation scheme relevant to your online business;
clear indications of price, if relevant, including any delivery or tax charges and your VAT number, if your online activities are subject to VAT.
For further information we recommend that you browse the BERR website, particularly the Beginners Guide to the E-Commerce Regulations 2002.

Hi. Here is the legal proof in black & white:
http://www.opsi.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm
Regulations 5 & 6 outline who is exempt from the regulations. Non limited companies or sole traders are not exempt.
The requirement for a company address is clearly outlined in regulation 7.

You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. At least the person you are attacking hasn't sunk to your incredibly low level, it speaks volumes for him and nothing for you [nearly all].
The first and subsequent postings from XL were threatenining and abusive. XL threatened Martin personally, the forum moderators and anyone else who dared post on the forum. Threatening behaviour is not tolerated on the forums as you rightly point out.
The point of a forum is that - in between the spammers and trolls, there is a wealth of collective knowledge and information that the members can provide. If I have a techie problem I post on the techie forum and get an answer in seconds. If someone has a tax query I'll respond to it and hopefully help someone out - that is how it works.
OnDigital didn't die becuase of the copy cards - Sky analogue had exactly the same problem - OnDigital died becuase it was a crap service, with crap channels, run by useless businessmen and were no match for the wealth of Murdoch.
Just becuase a business is trading doesn't mean it is legal. There are thousands of scam websites selling 42" LCD's for £250, those black bag auctions you see in the high street where people think they are buying a Sony Camcorder and end up with a Suny Camcorder, half the stuff on ebay is fake (ebay were fined last year a few £million for not patrolling it better), and every carboot event has a bloke selling hockey DVD's and yet they are there week in and week out - yet all 'legal' apparently?Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.0 -
Anyone want to buy a copy of the very latest XBOX360 game 'BATMAN', it is only £4.50
Paying £40 is for chumps, when you can download it via Limewire and repackage it as a back-up.
Site has been reported to FACT and Microsoft and we'll let them decide whether any law has been broken. If XL is legitimate then their team of lawyers (:rolleyes:) will have no problem batting off the minnows of MS and Murdoch.Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. XLTradingUK wrote: »As we are moving premises, would you like us to print misleading information of our last location on the site just to make you happy? Of course not. We can be contacted by a wide variety of means at the moment (the phone system is being installed at the moment at the way!!) so this is not a problem at all.
Not an excuse at all we find.
If we could not be contacted, then that would be illegal.
It is irrelevant whether you are a ltd company or a sole trader.
You only have to use the address you are trading from at the moment..... you know, the one you send your goods from. Either you are using the "old " premises or the " new " premises...... which is it? To change this on a website should take you less than 20 mins, much less time than you have spent on here making excuses.0 -
"First off - we are happy to announce that we have again got hold of a few new games which STILL have not come out yet in the UK to buy or rent and we are on course we hear for getting hold of the new Grand Theft Auto game for the XBOX 360 a few weeks before its official release - so for all you GTA fans.. why pay out over £40 for something that you can get from us for £4.50 instead?"

The above extract taken from their own blog last year - here they are stating that they have obtained copies of GTA 4 weeks before the official release date (and they are telling customers they can buy them for £4.50)
taking XL's argument that it is perfectly legal to copy anything you already own.......How can a customer legally back up their legally obtained copy of GTA4 when the game has not even been released to retail?.
Therefore, the argument that the back up is legal has no weight when they are offering to back up a game that does not even exist (ie, is still being pressed at the factory).Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Because I'm guessing one of the losers in this thread has asked you to come and join in this little debacle.
I will say one more time kids:
If it was ILLEGAL - we would have been CLOSED by now.
We have a very good and very big law firm working for us in the UK who sits and works out what we can and what we cannot do on the site - it costs us an arm and a leg, but its worth it because it stops ridiculous threads like these.
Thankyou and goodnight
I will give you that mate - you don't half make me chuckle with the stuff you come out with
The CPS would not even be handling the case - it would be you and us... small court, with us giving you a whipping.
CPSGod bless you for that.
You do know they deal with major crimes do you not instead of cases such as this?
We are on 126 replies due to me having to moan, winge, point out what you are doing is sullying our good name and defending our honour .. its probably me thats racked up that number.
And your a liar - so sue me
Oh wait.. you cant, because you have not shown us the site you mentioned...
But we can sue you, because even if this thread gets pulled- the hosting site will still have a backup we can get a transcript from.. please.. continue...
CPS
God bless you for that.. I will be watching the football tonight still chuckling at that.
I think I've got it!! This Could be a relative of Gary Cooper :rotfl::rotfl:0
