;24895227]Cant believe Ben still posts on here bearing in mind the grief he gets.
I know the cashback thing can be a bit dodgy but at least this fella is on here answering questions and trying his best. He doesnt have to do that, does he? Give him some credit for that !
As I've said before, we don't want to run cashback by redemption because all it does it potentially turn happy customers into angry ones. People keep buying them and we can't give up business just because we don't like it, so we run it as cleanly as possible (evidence by zero CCJs against us) and try to promote alternatives (like Automatic Cashback or instantly-despatched free gifts, both of which we launched first).
On top of this I've made numerous changes to our site and how we work based on feedback from just this website, I've asked for feedback or discussions with various people and been ignored (while they continue to attack me), and yes, tried to stay here to help others.

@Silk
1) Contract cancelled
2) Compensation paid to cover postage cost of the return, calls made and good will.
You have no outstanding problem as far as I can tell, ergo, "helped".
Regards,
I was the one who cancelled the contract because you never did !
There has been no compensation paid at all !
Calls were not made (other than one that my partner was unable to take and does not count.)!
No emails were ever replied to.
No apologies were made even though they were promised!
No contact was made by your Ops Mgr even though it was promised.!
I could go on but I'm sure the whole point of this is to what YOU have actualy done to help.?It's not just about the money0 -

I agree with you - but only up to a point. I deplore the personal attacks on him, the vendettas being carried out against CPW companies and the OTT language from some MSE members. But if you have been keeping up with the various threads on mobiles.co.uk you will see that many of the promises of action made by ben - which I believe were made in all good faith - have not translated into action and that is damaging.
So criticism of that aspect is perfectly legitimate, but not, I contend, much of the personal grief, as you call it, that has ensued.0 -

Hi Paul,
Yes he does it's what he gets paid for
He's not here out of the goodness of his heart ,he is a marketing guy who has Google alert set up so that he can Swoop on posts made on the WWW (His words)
Its not just here he posts its all over and he tries to perform damage limitation exercise which is why he acheives very little at helping people.
Its all smoke and mirrors I'm afraid. It's not just about the money0 -
One last time - we cancelled the contract, not you. You think you did but you are wrong, and were misadvised by the O2 rep you spoke to. Of course you won't believe this but there's not much I can do to help that.
The compensation cheque was requested and will be delivered within 28 days of that request.
Thanks,“Official Company Representative

How many times do we have to go over this spin that you put on it.
I was the one who cancelled the contract because you never did !

No offence, Silk, but unless Ben, on behalf of mobiles.co.uk, had agreed to cancel the contract, then you could not unilaterally have done it on your own. You may have asked, demanded that it be done, but it needed someone from the company to agree.
On the compensation issue - come on - you know how long it takes for cheques to emerge. Ben has gone into writing saying you will get it. You know it can take 50 days, so your beef starts on day 51, not now. And remember, it is an ex gratia payment.0 -

Incorrect. I joined here by choice and I will leave by choice. I'm not a "marketing guy paid to swoop in", I'm someone trying to improve the company and part of this is speaking to your critics or customers who feel let down. I can and will leave when I want to, and could have done at any point from day one; so why did I saty? Because I'm genuinely trying to improve things or because I enjoyed Quentin and MJ's uninformed and biased attacks so much?

Thanks,
I cancelled the contract because you hadn't. I received a bill from O2 because you hadn't cancelled.
I'm afraid that you are quite right I don't believe you !
If O2 tell me the accounts still active and they say you had not cancelled it and I receive a bill because you had not cancelled then its not been cancelled by you ....has itIt's not just about the money0 -
You know it can take 50 days, so your beef starts on day 51, not now. And remember, it is an ex gratia payment.
28 days to raise a cheque + 30 days to approve a cashback claim = the much debated 58 days, distorted by MJ as being something it isn't because he believes the time that must pass before a cheque can be stopped and re-issued is somehow part of the T&C-stated 30 days to validate *and send* the cheque.
In this case, we're talking about 28 days before Silk should ask where it is, but the distortion has obviously worked.
