hi,

I am about to buy a 12 month contract with 8 months free and a free phone from mobiles.co.uk, I would like to know your experience with them. Also how about e2save.com?

1. Do they honour the cashbacks?
2. When do they send the claim forms?
3. How long do I have to claim after the relevant bill arrives?
4. If I use special delivery am I guaranteed to receive cashback?
5. When do they send the new cheque and claim forms?
6. What address do I send them to?

The website doesn't contain this information so thats why I need your help! Please give any other help you can. Many thanks, Andriy. :rotfl:

They are both cpw (though Mobiles.co.uk attempts to distinguish themselves as separate when it suits). Only use either if you follow all the groundules for any cashback dealer - and don't trust these ones an inch. E2Save used to be fantastic (more than two years ago). Since then they have become thoroughly dishonest and definitely untrustworthy. Mobiles.co.uk claims to be different - yet walk, talk and act the same. The main thing is that they are likely to survive so if you need to (and are prepared to) sue, provided you are able to and prove your case. Most of the time it won't be necessary to do so, but ignoring this advice is at your own peril.

Mobiles2yourdoor and Phones4u (parent of former) are MUCH, MUCH safer, more reliable and trustworthy. They actually DO what they SAY and pay up without fuss and in a very short time. Mobiles.co.uk will keep you waiting for around 50 days for a cheque - no matter what rubbish the rep on here may say about that. That does not mean that you should ignore the groundrules when using Phones4u though - once upon a time cpw was reputable and honest so things can always change (though there's no real chance of that happening in cpw's case given their responses when challenged on here!).

If you read the threads Quentin has put on for you and any of the many others on E2Save you might like to contracts them with this one:-

Of course - even my critics on here would be unable to show a single un-honoured cashback claim.
    2. When do they send the claim forms?
No forms, simply send in the correct bill as per our "Claiming Cashback" page
    3. How long do I have to claim after the relevant bill arrives?
Currently 30 days from the date on the bill, which is changing to 60 shortly.
    4. If I use special delivery am I guaranteed to receive cashback?
It's advisable to use a delivery service that provides proof of delivery - Recorded is fine, Special is only useful if the goods are valuable or next-day delivery is vital.
    5. When do they send the new cheque and claim forms?
We confirm receipt of your claim the day it comes in, confirm validity and payment within max 30 days and then request the cheque - this can take up to 28 days to arive.
    6. What address do I send them to?
You can either post them to us, the address is on the site, email them or use our Cashback Claims online form (which has a space to attach a scan/PDF version of the bill)
The website doesn't contain this information so thats why I need your help!
Most of these questions are answered by clicking on "Click here for help" on the left hand side of the site, I think, including the address.

    Hope this helps,

"Of course - even my critics on here would be unable to show a single un-honoured cashback claim."

    This "critic" can.

"We confirm receipt of your claim the day it comes in, confirm validity and payment within max 30 days and then request the cheque - this can take up to 28 days to arive."

In other words, UP TO 58 days! contract that with the thread on Mobiles2yourdoor.

If they aren't and you have a couple of weeks to spare you can always call them and (when they eventually answer) ask. Just make sure you get what they say in writing.

As far as e2save goes this would be poor advice - they won't pay up if the claim gets lost in the post, so you do need to use special delivery with consequential loss to cover this.

    Question to the mobiles.co.uk rep:

You say recorded delivery is "fine" and special need only be used for next day delivery, but what happens should a recorded delivery item get lost in the post, resulting in the claim eventually arriving after the deadline?

Please PM me any example you might have and I'll certainly look into it for you; however this is the 8th time I've asked you to and you haven't yet?

This would result in a failed claim unfortunately, so Consequential Liability would be a good idea - I was under the impression even Special Delivery didn't offer this, but happy to be corrected.

Just goes to confirm we should be very careful acting on any advice posted here, (even from an official rep), and always get things like this in writing.

Using recorded (as advised by you) could be a very expensive mistake!

Will you ensure this is pointed out on your website? (Which has confusing advice regarding advising using recorded delivery or registered post, which (hasn't been available for years!)

I'll get it looked at - "registered post" is Proof of Postage, which I think is still available from eg a Post Office?

    @ Quentin and mobilejunkie

Thanks, I trust your answers very much. I have already done one of these cashback deals with mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk, sent my claims using special delivery and got all the cashback no problems. Only problem now is that they offer poor deals so I'm switching to mobiles.co.uk.

I'm trying to come up with a "Cashback Guarantee Plan" of the current t&c as of 4th Sep 2009 to make sure I avoid all the pitfalls, I imagine there will be more with mobiles.co.uk than my other experience. So heres the plan for my £35 p/m 12 month contract which has 8 months free with cashback which I will purchase soon:

    1. Purchase via topcashback.co.uk for £40 off.
    2. Only use Special Delivery on weekdays (because they say in t&c that signed del not accepted on weekends).
    3. Post(on weekdays) the 6,8,10,12 bills as soon as they arrive, but taking pictures of the bills being put in envelope and of the Special Delivery receipt.
    4. Being prepared to file a claim through the small claims court for none payment of cashback.
    5. Being prepared to contact trading standards for none payment of cashback.
    6. Having the relevant phone numbers/e-mail address of customer services.
    7. Cancel any insurance and tech support charges asap.

I need help on points 3 and 4 above, and have I missed out anything? Can anyone not associated with mobiles.co.uk help Thanks again. :D
