"registered post" is Proof of Postage, which I think is still available from eg a Post Office?
"Registered post" (as I already posted) hasn't been available for years.
If by "Proof of Postage" you mean we should ask for a "certificate of posting", then I ask you the same question:
What value is a certificate of posting should the claim get lost in the post and ultimately the claim deadline is missed?0 -
@ Quentin and mobilejunkie
Thanks, I trust your answers very much. I have already done one of these cashback deals with mobiles2yourdoor.co.uk, sent my claims using special delivery and got all the cashback no problems. Only problem now is that they offer poor deals so I'm switching to mobiles.co.uk.
I'm trying to come up with a "Cashback Guarantee Plan" of the current t&c as of 4th Sep 2009 to make sure I avoid all the pitfalls, I imagine there will be more with mobiles.co.uk than my other experience. So heres the plan for my £35 p/m 12 month contract which has 8 months free with cashback which I will purchase soon:
1. Only use Special Delivery on weekdays (because they say in t&c that signed del not accepted on weekends).
2. Post(on weekdays) the 6,8,10,12 bills as soon as they arrive, but taking pictures of the bills being put in envelope and of the Special Delivery receipt.
3. Being prepared to file a claim through the small claims court for none payment of cashback.
4. Being prepared to contact trading standards for none payment of cashback.
5. Having the relevant phone numbers/e-mail address of customer services.
I need help on points 3 and 4 above, and have I missed out anything? Can anyone not associated with mobiles.co.uk help Thanks again.
Remember to have a look on quidco as you might beable to get extra cashback via them also. (another £40 for a contract phone)

It wouldn't cover loss, which is why our website has always stated that safe delivery of the claim to ourselves is the customer's responsibility; obviously we cannot be responsible for the claim until it arrives at our office, and cannot pay out a claim if we have never seen the bill.
Personally I'd use either email or the "Submit Claim" form on our site, as this cuts all of these potential problems out.

@ Andyblizz
Thanks but how about topcashback?
They don't charge the £5 annual fee as it's free, whilst offering seemingly the same service as Quidco!
What's your opinion? thanks.0 -

I have never used topcashback.
I used to use rpoints and there higher cashback promise. But i have since moved to Quidco.
As i like there site and all my transaction have been tracked.
Including my mobiles.co.uk order for my wifes iPhone.
(mobiles.co.uk was only used due to the quidco cashback - £60 which have have just been paid )
But remember to clear all your cookies before ordering as it may have thing stored from other websites that may effect your claim0 -
Oh also remember is you go via Mobiles.co.uk they will more than likely make you sign up for insurance and tech help. Total cost arround £12 a month.
Make sure you cancel these before the charging period kicks in and cancel any DD they set up for them.0 -

OK so cancel the insurance and tech help!
Sorry what did you mean by "DD they set up"? thx0 -
Please PM me any example you might have and I'll certainly look into it for you; however this is the 8th time I've asked you to and you haven't yet?
Thanks,
And for the 8th time I will reply that I have no need of your "help". Things get sorted one way or another - just as i always sorted them (one way or another) with E2Save etc.. However, it is blatantly untrue that no-one has ever been denied a valid cashback claim by your company. It is also blatantly untrue that no-one has ever sued you because they have not received payment.0 -

Several points to improve your plan.
Topcashback is far less reliable than Quidco and less honourable in paying up when faced with a dishonest merchant.
3) above; you are falling into the age-old trap set by cpw company; it is NOT bill NUMBERS which matter. Bill numbers vary according to the network and aren't always sequencial, neither do "numbers" always correspond to the bills specified in the t&c. It is the t&c AT THE POINT OF SALE (cpw has a habit of changing them afterwards when they aren't complying with them, as with this dealer) which matter. THEY are the ones you rely on when it proves necessary so tue - SO PRINT THEM OUT AT THE POINT OF SALE and DON'T be diverted from them later when the dealer (this one for example) tries to wriggle out of them.
4) To be 100% safe you need to add consequential loss insurance. This is one rule I waive - but only because I have my eye totally on the ball and have an infallible back-up plan.
5) Forget trading standards - usually they are a waste of space. Revert to 4) if the dealer starts playing games. IF the rep is still on here you should firts place a public statement on these threads and ask them to sort it. It's a waste of time going through the cashback department of ANY cpw company EXCEPT to porve to a court that you have been reasonable. The rep on here will sort it even when they are totally in the wrong SOMETIMES, purely because they seem quite keen to put up a public facade of "hinesty" and "fairness" even when their proper channels aren't. IF they do it will save you the hassle of suing them. I know this FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.
Having put this particular dealer to the test they are obviously incompetent. I have clearly and repeatedly said that I have experienced mixed things from them. Up to a point I would give them the benefit of the doubt (as a handful of others seem to no matter WHAT evidence is presented - or excuses by the rep), putting all the obvious problems with them down to utter incompetence. However, this would be a mistake for a few reasons. Firstly, E2Save could be viewed in the same light by the uninformed customers when they went "bad". It was a sad day indeed, BUt in their case it most certainly WAS a specific decision they MADe to stuff the customer. the fact they were also incompetent didn't help. With cashback deals even this rep has (for once correctly) said that it is the nature of a good cashback scheme that many people do not get paid. THAT doesn't make the dealer dishonest, but the customer careless or sometimes greedy BUT lazy. However, it certainly doesn't pay to give any dealer the benefit of the doubt (incompetence) when it comes to getting YOUR money; and the responses of the rep has convinced me that there is not just a huge element of incompoetence but also a fair degree of dishonesty about them. THAT does not make for a "good" cashback scheme.
It pays to be very cautious with a cashback deal and dealer - especially when things start to go wrong. when the talk doesn't match the actuality and the truth becomes twisted and untruths abound it is definitely wise NOT to give them the benefit of any doubt with YOUR money!0 -
Thanks mobilejunkie for the advice, could u help me here:
1. Can I just make a screenshot of the t&c because I don't have access to a printer, if not then I'll just visit the nearest computer shop.
2. Is topcashback really that unreliable? Do you have personal experience of this?
3. When you said consequestial insurance loss, did you mean claim for that in the small claims court or is that a special delivery option!
thanks again :cool:0
