MJ. You are not Gordon Brown, are you? He is 100% sure he has the right words and message too.

Ok Silk - no retailer can pay you for staying at home - I lost several hours trying to get through to dialaphone and Three in 2007 (whilst at work). The business with your OH going to NY is irrelevant too.

Why not just go down the route of consumer direct and lodge a complaint - thats what I would do if they are not paying out the £50 compensation now.
The NY business as you put was very relavent because it was explained to them several times why the urgency to sort it out ....I admit that whilst 3 weeks should have been enough time for any decent company to sort it out this was not the case for mobiles.co.uk.

Whats the point of Consumer Direct ?
Perhaps tell them some bloke on a chatline (as my OH calls it ;) )promised to send a cheque for £50
Perhaps tell them a company doesn't answer emails.
Maybe tell them I got sick of listening to the poxy music on the phone.
How about telling them Kelly doesn't do her job
Or Jack doesn't do his job
Or the nameless woman on CS doesn't do her job
Or Daniel doesn't do his job
Or Ben doesn't do his job
How about telling them a bloke lies to me on a chatline that must ring alarm bells with them !
    What do you suggest ?

I suspect it is not the £50 Silk is concerned with. And the consequences of a dealer not doing what they say they will (repeatedly) and making false promises is very much relevant to the way he feels now. The rep made promise after promise - none of which were fullfilled - and proceeded to lie about the phone calls which were never made (bar the first to Silk's OH which is not in dispute).
Excellent post MJ and quite right
I've said this all along the £50 is of no consequence to me as I'm not stuck for a couple of quid !
However as you say it's the promise after promise that was broken and this cheque business is just the latest in a long line of broken promises...even if at some stage it did arrive the 28 days was up today !
And quite right too regarding the lies ...I can stomache most things but I don't tolerate being lied to esp. in business and as I've said before on here if I caught one of my employees doing it they would be sacked on the spot.

I do not know what Silk wants but he is owed the compensation - the rep did say he could not do anything.

As I read the threads - it became clear that either the rep was getting wound up or he just had given up - arguing the case for his company and in doing so making it worse.
    What do you mean ?
It was Ben that asked me to email him (never replied)
It was Ben that asked me to PM him (waste of time)
It was Ben that promised they would sort it (never did)
It was Ben who arranged for the OM to contact me (never happened)
It was Ben who promised to get an explanation of what went wrong(never got one)
It was Ben who promised Daniel would sort it (never happened)
It was Ben who promised the contract was cancelled (it never was)
It was Ben who promised a cheque in 28 days (never happened)

So at what point did Ben say he could not do anything

Thinking about it ...whats the point in having a Company Rep if he can't do anything.
Pointless other than damage limitation maybe ;)

I would be his antithesis. He has much more in common with the rep than with me. Also I am not only interested in my "ego" as you seem to think. Like the rep, he is only speaking in public to sell his own interests.
  • This whole thread contains some of the most pointless jabbering I have ever read on the internet. Well done you.:money:

Apologies to you Matt but you will find it's only relevant to a few of us ;)

Welcome to the forum by the way

  • Does it become relevant to me if I'm a customer who had a problem but had that problem solved to my satisfaction?

I thought a picture might help as there is quite a lot of paranoia on this forum but i can't post links to photobucket.

I have been reading these forums for some time but felt obliged to sign up after seeing the way some people have felt the need to treat the mobiles rep.

My story is this ........................ I ordered an HTC Hero it turned up next day. A week later it started to play up so I emailed returns. Received a reply next day with my returns number and address to send phone back to. Sent phone back on thursday, brand new HTC hero back with me on Saturday morning. I'm sorry that someone on here had to spend over 2 days on the phone to sort the same thing out but sometimes things go wrong.

Good to see another customer's perspective. More direct posts such as this are much more helpful rather than the generic anti-CPW ramblings.
