Hugs and cuddles from me to Maggie xx
Can i also ask which vet you are using, they sound great and although I don't have a cat my mum does so it would be useful to know
Thanks and again, thoughts and best wishes are with you both0 -
Of course Paula - they are truly brilliant, honestly. I can't fault them . They have branches in malone road, Holywood & castlereagh road.

You just ring that number and they all go through to the one office in Holywood. Heck, even the receptionists are lovely and helpful. I also have the number 90426587

I have a Maggie I have a Maggie I hame a Maggie!
She came in and said hello and then went straight for her food! I have it measured so i can keep a better track of what she is eating and know quantities. Initial signs are good - her eyes are brighter and she is walking with more ease (not struggling). She had some sweeties (food), then gave her a cuddle and put her upstairs on her blanket - she was down within two minutes wanting attention, sitting under my computer chair!:rotfl:
Vet said just to monitor her, and contact them if bad stuff happens or she goes downhill.
I am going to sit this weekend, and write them a letter to thank them. I cant even put it into words, as every time I do I start to cry and I think they have had enough of me crying , trying to stifle words out!
We are not out of the woods yet, but I have told her she has a couple of years left - and they are hers to take if she wants them! Also told her if she feels it's time to go, to go and not be scared.
I can't thank you all enough for your help in here. Ill update if anyone wants
She smells funny (not like normal, like mediciney and vet like iykwim), so have to get her smelling all homely again! She has got in the litter tray and out again but not done anything yet, and has eaten almost 20g of dry food after being home about 20 odd minutes.:TA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hello,
I am soooooo pleased that Maggie is back home with you again and she must be delighted to be home.
Lots of TLC and cuddles over the next couple of days and she'll be a different cat. Her mouth must be feeling better to be able to each that much dried food, so that's really good news.
Keep letting us know how she's doing, Maggie has a fan club on here now - make sure you tell her that!
Lots of positive thoughts for you and cuddles for Maggie.

Hello! Thanks so much! Yay, a Maggie fan club!
She has had 20g of dry, asked for more so gave her another 20g, and almost half a slice of ham! And she went a tiny bit in the litter tray, so far all well. My brother is up with her now seeing her (came expecialy) and he said she seems in good spirits, so its not just me thinking that!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

That's excellent news, I am delighted for you and for Maggie!
I love how you spoke to her - I did similar when my Tabitha was about to be pts and told her she was going to see her old friends Oscar, Baba and Henry. It sounds so silly but it does help to say the sorts of things you said to Maggie out loud.
Maggie must be feeling so much more comfortable now that the horrible abscess is going (or even gone). She may be an elderly girl but her kitten spirit has come back.0 -
Yes Im sure hoping so Snowy! I uploaded some pics of her today - i can see a real difference compared to the one i uploaded in post 37.

So far tonight she has eaten
30g dried food
about 2-3 rds of a pouch of chicken whiskas
i almost slice of marksys ham
big slurps of water
I have been watching her like a hawk, and so far, she has spent about 2 hours upstairs (out of app nearly 9 hours). I have been noting down what shes doing so i can keep a track and notice changes in her behaviour. Also seen her cleaning herself earlier, and she played with her little conch (cone thing) to get some dried food - so i shall check tomo of the other 20g of dried - how much she has ate
I know what you mean about talking to them - few understand that and i suppose it makes us sound a little nuts, but sure, what he hey?
I do think she looks puffier and more awake generally. My old friend called and my bro and she was all over my friend - who shed not seen for 6 months.
Brother was raging :rotfl:
She is sitting behind me waiting for me to go to bed, so i better go. Fingers and toes.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men
