Ok, she is at he vets, they have taken her to holywood for blood test and x ray. He cant really feel her liver which suggest possible liver failure . I asked him " so its not necessarily the end of her?" And he said " not necessarily, but its not great news at the same time". She also has an absess in her mouth which has caused her problems with eating too. Have to ring at 3 for an update. Just keeping my fingers crossed.

Hopefully everything will be ok. She looks so cute in the photos. What a sweetie!

The time may come when you will have to be prepared to do what is best for her, even when you know that it is a decison that will break your heart. My mother had to take the decision last March about her 17 year old cat. I went down with her to the vets and although it was tough we got through it together. We'd been through so much with her health - she had pleurisy, had to have fluid drained from her lungs and she suffered from stress induced cystitis (she came from The Cat's Protection League). We knew we'd made the right decision in the end because her kidneys were failing and there was nothing more the vet could do. Basically we didn't want her to suffer and now we can accept that we made the right decision at the right time. That's the worst thing about being a cat owner / lover. They become one of the family and it can be difficult when those around you who aren't cat people don't understand just how upset and worried you are. It's not the same as having a sick child because your cat can't tell you how she's feeling. Wouldn't it be great if they could?!

Your cat clearly loves having you as her 'mummy'! The fact that she has been trying to eat is a good sign - it shows that she wants to get better. I would imagine that the abscess has made her not feel like eating.

Your vet will give you their honest opinion and will do everything they can to make sure she's a happy puss again. We're all thinking about you. x

  • Hi,
Just wanted to say "thinking about you". Been in your position lots of times and waiting for news is the worst.

    Really hope she's OK.

    Take care

PS: Love the pictures, she's beautiful and very lucky that you are taking such good care of her.
    TRH

thanks:o she is adorable. She cuddled up to me in the vets, bless her. Behaved very well. Kinda weird, she was very calm. Almost like she knew she was getting help? Can they sense that? She's a smart wee !!!!!!. This has been the longest hour.

I know, sometimes you have to be "cruel" to be kind. To be honest, i have prepared myself for the worst over the last few days.

Lovin the kitty stories, very comforting.

    6 minutes.
