    woohoo.

There is a god. I just had a phonecall to say that the school can't open tomorrow. It's fantastic news as we are being inspected again next week, so i'll be able to spend tomorrow having a good sort out and getting organised for that. I knew there was a fine reason why i was putting off planning tomorrows lessons out. :T

Mushy peas - can't really grumble about yesterdays marking as it was the SAT marking i have been doing to get some extra cash. It's above my normal load, as i normally detest the stuff. Hence having a briefcase bag full of test papers that my classes did while i was off sick, and i haven't got round to doing yet. I need a good sort out I think.

Now, how to celebrate? The bathroom needs doing, and i have a few more loads of washing to do. You know, since going back to work, i've done 5 weeks and none of them have been a full one due to bank holidays and strikes. I can handle this pace. :rotfl:

OOOH - just realised i can now stop up late to watch prison break without feeling like crap when i have to get up at 6 in the morning. Extra hour in bed. Strange how the smallest of things has just made my day. I'm extra glad now that i went visiting my folks. Oh, my other good news is my 7 month old nephew just got his first tooth.

Going to go and do something constructive.

    Michelle. xx

    I've had a secretarial day today. :p

Had to be done, or we'd have people on the phone winging at us! Managed to come to a good conclusion over the outstanding amount on the Gas Bill (which occurred when the Gas Board decided to overcharge us, so I stopped paying them to attract their attention - which worked - but wound us up with a small debt). It makes such a difference when you get a person on the end of the phone who is human! The last one was definitely less than human, nor was he listening to what I was saying. *sigh* Today's was lovely and we even had a little chat about how he'd just had a baby, so was half asleep, poor thing!

Resolved the mystery of the Ultrasound Scan appointment I'd been sent. Apparently I was referred way back in December .. .. and the problems I had been experiencing then, disappeared aeons ago - so I rang and cancelled the appointment. Phew!

DH decided to wield a microfibre and some polish (he's not convinced by the Stardrops or the vinegar/essential oil methods), followed by wielding the vacuum cleaner. He did the sitting room, dining room and stairs to the bedrooms - but ran out of enthusiasm when faced with the bedroom carpets. Its the only thing I've got left on today's "to do" list, so maybe I can do it quickly before I sit down this evening. It'd be nice to have ticked off everything on today's list - it doesn't happen often!

I've got a couple of offcut lamb chops left over from a bag of frozen chops, so I had a brainwave today and decided that tomorrow I'd convert them into Scotch Broth. :) I've got the soup mix out soaking already, so hopefully it won't be quite so robust (aka uncooked) as it was last time I tried to use it! I shall have to send OH out on his Freecycle Cycle to find me an onion or two before then. He'll enjoy doing a bit of hunter/gathering.

Right then, better feed the animals, do the dishes, get some washing in the WM and vac. those bedrooms - all before "House of Shouty Children" starts. :)

B was : Marmite toast with delicious butter (as DS describes it!)
L was : a Sausage Roll and a slice of Cake. Ooops! :o
D was : DH's own recipe chicken curry - and for pud, Goldfish & Yoghurt. :) Yum!
:hello: I'm very well, considering the state I'm in. :hello:

    Afternoon/evening everyone :hello:

I'm afraid that I haven't had a chance to read the thread all the way through yet. I hope that everyone's day is going well.

My day has been ok, however my class are now too hyperactive for words - and I've still got another 9 weeks with them before they go to "big" school. I thought that it may just be me............ but the other Year 6 teacher is finding her class impossible too.

I was also observed by the head today. It seems really pointless as he's going round each teacher observing us, making sure that we're doing ok. However, he only saw me teach for 10 mins. How on earth can you make a judgement on that? The experienced Year 6 teacher was observed for the same amount of time, so we're finding it quite pointless. It's just so that he can tell Ofsted that he's following the "Action Plan" that is in place.

Did anyone see that "See No Evil: The Moors Murders" last night? I know it's not the nicest thing in the world, but I found it fascinating.... what actually goes through the minds of those sick people. However, there was an ulterior motive as one of my friends boyfriends has a small part in it. Quite exciting trying to spot him :D.

My savings for this month is going well too. I'm hoping that I'll be able to put £300 on my total. This does mean that I'm being incredibly tight for the next couple of weeks, but I really need to save up for my car. As soon as I've reached my target I'll be starting to save for next year's holiday and hopefully buying our own house. Fingers crossed. :)

    Breakfast: branflakes & a cuppa
Lunch: branflakes (whoops, didn't make lunch :D)
Supper: turkey stir fry with egg noodles and plenty of stir-fried veggies.

Anyway, I've rabbited on for far too long. :o

Yes, I watched it - and you're right it was fascinating. DH wouldn't watch it though - he didn't agree with it.

Finally got around to reading todays thread, but far too daunting to reply; my head is a jumble of Florida, HM sausages, open topped cars, cheese, flooded car parks & freebie days out!
Have remembered that VickyA's team won yesterday, although I will be secretly shouting for Sale (not too loudly!) cos I used to work with the team many moons ago.
I have a thai green chicken curry on the hob waiting for OH to get home & really must go pack as I'm away tomorrow night for work. Oh the joys of travelodge/beefeater living! Anyone know a nicer place to eat in Nuneaton?

    Evening Guys!

Have just settled down for the evening with DD & OH.

DD came in from school and she ironed a few bits that I sold on Ebay-about 8 small boys items, emptied the DW, swept through, had a shower and put Pjs on-all so that we could put Pirates Of The Caribean on at 6.30:rotfl: i love bribing kids..LOL...and she was ready by 6:eek:

Dinner was lovely of Toad In Hole, mash and veg. Pudding was ice cream and Lemon sorbet for me:D Made enough mash and veg for me lunch tomorrow (also cooked 4 taste the difference Salmon fishcakes reduced to 21p)as SIL is over in the morning and will just need to be re-heated for us 3.

Lunchbox basics are done for DD and just need to grab her frozen sarnie, water bottle and yogurt out. Kitchen cleared away and put in DW, sides wiped etc.

OH has painted DD's ceiling today and looks lovely and bright in there. Made all the calls I had to make and done a little more reading of course material, also booked up my next course for October:eek:

Ordered 20 Siberian privets from LXDirect to MIL's address and used a £15 voucher, so only paid £6.50 inc delivery for them. We want to have enough coverage to do a small veggie plot next year to the front of the house and OH thinks this will do OK.

Anyway, best go and watch the end of this film.

    See Ya in the morning.

    Hugs
    PP

Well I've just taken piccies of 25 items to go on Ebay tonight for 5p listing day, as I'm trying to make make some money for my hols in June.
W*** was pants today, but never mind, I've only got 3 weeks to go til I start my new job. Also found out today I'll be getting a nice little bonus in next month's pay packet, so will either save it, or maybe put it in my newer car fund.
Well am going to put away the washing up, and sweep up in the kitchen, then finish the 3D jigsaw of London bridge with my boyf.
Then we'll watch See No Evil Hear no Evil (2nd half).
    Hope everyone's ok :grouphug:
