Morning Guys!
Cant believe we are into yet another new month...how time flies!!
Didnt sleep well last night and have been downstairs for about an hr or so now-I can hear movement upstairs but think its DD not OH..LOL.
WM is on and will be dried on airer as its raining quite hard here ATM. Toilet is also cleaned. Rest of house is clean and tidy from friday and OH emptied the DW and did through the kitchen before he came to bed last night.
We all have homework or some studies to do, so will designate half the day for this, then we may just bung a film on unless weather clears and we can go for a drive. OH & DD were hoping for it to be dry so they could go to a bootsale but doesnt look promising ATM-but we do need the rain, so cant moan too much.
Must update my bank accounts today and pay some of the Visa off, not too long and we will be debt free...yay!!!
Ticklemouse-So glad the party went well.
Anyway, got to go as it was DD and shes asking questions about a science test she has on tuesday?????
Breakie:scrambled egg on toast
Lunch:Baked Spud, coleslaw, salad and cheese
Dinner:Chicken Fajitas and rice
Have a great bank holiday everyone!!
Hugs to all

Hello everyone and happy bank holiday to you all!!
Yes, it's a Monday and as there is no w*** today I am feeling very happy! There needs to be three-day weekends at least once every month, it would really cheer people up I think. Bargain Rzl...I'm so jealous that you've got the whole entire week off! I am having to use about a week's worth of holiday for study and exams - and I only get four weeks per annum.
My day yesterday was a bit of a non-event. It started to rain in the afternoon, and basically didn't stop all day long - how annoying! I've got four loads of washing draped all over the place trying to dry - I always have faith that the rain will stop and the sun come out, however this is Ireland, and it does rain a lot here - hard to get used to after the relatively warmer and drier climate in London.
Elona - hope that news from the hospital is positive today.
Ticklemouse, I'm glad to hear the party went well - happy clearing up for later on today. It probably looks a bit worse than what it really is, but I'm sure it won't take too long once you get stuck in.
Joannasmum, hope you're feeling a bit more with it today and that those teens next door got lost elsewhere last night.
Mushy...I hate to ask, but how did you get on with the rest of your essay?
Catowen..I got another dipstick phoning me in the middle of the night looking for a taxi, not that I answered the phone of course - at least the answering machine was unplugged so I didn't have to get up to turn that off. I thought that this problem had gone away, so bang goes that theory with calls on two consecutive nights.
Oh look, I'm awake!! I took a glass of that special white medicine from the big green bottle in the fridge last night - so telephone calls apart I slept well last night, just not enough. I'm feeling quite refreshed though, so I think I'll go and do something rather than hop back into bed.
Happy Bank Holiday Monday everyone

Morning everyone.
Elena - hope you hear good news.
I am off to work, so quick post this morning. I don't get bank holidays, but have a week off later in May, so looking forward to that.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.0 -
:hello: Gooooood Morning, fellow OS'ers on this May Day Morning!!
The sunshine hasn't woken up yet and it's a bit grey and soggy out there this morning, but, I'm optimistic the sun will shine later, if not outside then I shall make certain it does *inside*.
The loaf made yesterday with the malt cob concentrate turned out DELICIOUS!!!! Wasn't quite sure how it's meant to be used, but followed the recipe for a seeds loaf and added the malt cob bits to that and X'd my fingers.   It's pricey @ £1.60 for a weeny bag, but a little goes a long way and it adds a wonderful extra bit of texture and flavour that is well worth it (to us)
B: Muesli, yogurt and OJ (cafetierre with fairtrade decaff - great find that was!)
L: Seeded Malt Cob Loaf with egg mayo and salad,Tuna steaks, pasta and salad; apple crumble (from freezer).
My bathtime yesterday was pure indulgence! Put on some music, lit some scented candles and sampled my bath goodies - ahh, like heaven with the gates shut - peaceful!
Today is hobby day for me (fingers X'd) - both boys are going to spend a bit of time revising for their SATS next week. Not that either of them are feeling any pressure or overly concerned, but they are still of an age where they will take the advice of teachers and Mother!:rotfl:
D11yo is keen to make some cakes for the packed lunches next week and I'm always happy to encourage and support that
Finally got to watch "War of the Worlds" but tbh, wasn't too impressed withPassed a couple of hours under the guise of "entertainment" though
Have a lovely May Day, everyone
saraht - hope your dinner with OH's parents, Aunt & Uncle went well and the cherry cheesecake was a success!
Shez - how wonderful that Nanny had the children and gave you the opportunity for a whole day of special time:j
joannesmum - ((hugs)) How awful for you - hope you managed to get a better sleep last night!!! How long before the parents return from OZ?
cat - :j :j :j on ds's 2 goals!!!! :j :j :j Hope you enjoyed the match at PlymouthAww, your poor DD, it must be so hard for her to lose her friend to a chasm of miles
As for the pamper basket ... maybe you could make one up with DD too, sounds like you might both benefit from one
(As well as bath/girlie bits, I also have chill out CD's, scented candles etc., something to suit a variety of occasions day/night that I can retreat to
oh and a small 1/3rd bottle sized wine  )
MushyPeas - lovely to see you posting yesterday, hope you achieved all your goals
somo1 - how was your dying session? Hope you have awoken to the spotless house you were aiming for.
taplady & twink - well done on your Boot Fair bargains!!! :j
elona - (((((((hugs)))))))) Thinking of you.
New Panda Bear - love the idea of a little herb garden in a big pot. Like it a lot
SnowyOwl - yes, do grab some of the Pecksniff's - it is GORGEOUS!!!And prices not to be sniffed at
TKMaxx is very like Century 21 in the US - some of the items, if you know the names, are real quality bargains worth snatching up, yet other brands are sometimes not the bargains they might appear to be. It's worth researching the company sometimes if you haven't heard of them before. Happy bargain hunting
Sweet Pea - :T :T :T I thoroughly enjoyed reading your OS doings!! Lovely inspirational post. :T :T :T
sans - sounds like a good arrangement between you and OH re: cooking and housework! Mind you, it might be worth him showing you how to turn on the cooker ... how else would you be able to rustle him up a surprise, special occasion cake/dinner
Glad - hope you get your Pecksniffs and have a great time in Manchester today
moggins - Oh wow! Great news on your henhousesPleased that you enjoyed a wonderful day out with DH. Even better news that you IL's are getting some hens for you. Looks like we have both reached this milestone around the same time
LTS - excellent news on your patio! Enjoy.
Jo!!! :j :j :T That's a funtastic bargain on the sewing machine!!!! I'm really happy for you! :j :j Wishing you many happy hours in stitches
Pooky - steam cleaners can be a real time and energy saver; must admit, I've never used mine on the car though ..... .....
powie69 - Have a wonderful holiday. Looking forward to hearing about it when you return.
PP - could one of the reasons for not having the option to copy be for copyright purposes?

Morning all
Thanks Queenie, I am getting very excited now and have been straight out in the garden working out where to put them.
Does anyone know why a whole tray of tomato seeds are doing nothing at all? I'm really not very impressed with Wilko's seeds this year. So far only two trays of seeds (Courgette and Sweetcorn) have sprouted and it looks like I am going to have to buy some plants instead. The beetroot and Spinach that I planted under a cloche straight into the garden are doing really well though.
Loads of planting to do today, the sun is attempting to shine here so I am hopeful that I will be out in the garden in about an hour.
DD was treated to breakfast in bed as she says her foot is hurting, I know she hasn't injured it and I can't see anything wrong but I've put her back to bed with her tv on.
I got a beautiful necklace and some candles from the in-laws for my birthday and even got a box of chocolates brought all the way from China from BIL, I was really touched by this as he never bothers with anyone elses birthdays
Ticklemouse I'm glad the party went well
elona I hope you hear some good news today
Jo When you've mastered your sewing machine can you come down and show me how to use mine as I still haven't ventured on to it yet?Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Happy BH everyone:j
Its chucking it down here in Ye Olde London Town!
Anniversary - we went to the London Planetarium for free showing (as posted on here) and also got £5 off another visit voucher! (very OS) were there any other MSErs there yesterday????
Didnt do MTussauds, will go back with kids another time. Walked to oxford st, popped in M&S. Jumped train to westminster, walked along embankment to waterloo, had drink in the old Fire Station now a pub then got train home. We went to a new Beefeater for some eats, but it was so busy, we decided to leave it and went to the Noodle Bar for some yummy food - so probably saved £20 on meal too!
I havent read yesterdays thead yet, will catch up later, got to get ready am going to see a man about a job at canary wharf - am in real dilema about what to do, he wants me to have it, I would like to have it but maybe later in the year - I am really enjoying being at home for a while with kids and having some time to myself - not had a good couple of years and really feel I'm getting myself back together - will sitting back in an office close me down again?? but i turned job down once and then sorted of regretted missing an opportunity e.g. work in nice place, bit challenging and chance of travel to Dubai (family too) - now it has returned - do i look a gift horse in the mouth twice???
Listened to Jeremy Vine on friday about the "happiness" programme due on tv this week, interesting, I have made notes on how to become "Happier" - was really good boost after suffering with PND/job loss finally think i'm coming out of the black hole! ha ha0 -
Good Morning all ,
well the great british weather never disappoints us all on Bank Holiday Monday. It's chucking it down at the moment. I was full of good intentions yesterday as we had such a sunny day, but it looks like my planting out has got to wait. Luckily my Son-in-law came round and trimmed my lawn for me .He's a good lad, and I get to play with the four little boys whilst he get's to play with my beast of a lawn-mower.
My daughter has to work today so I shall pop round and give him a hand.Their box-freezer gave up the ghost on them yesterday, so we have got to bag up what was in there and I shall run it up the tip. Nothing was savagable sadly, I only hope the tip is open.!!
I have put my slow cooker on with some diced steak and veggies in this morning so i am in front of myself at the moment .I shall probably go for a swim at tea time at the local health club and meet up with my eldest DD and family. They do a lovely Jacket spud there with all the trimmings for about £2.50 so after a swim and a sauna then it's off upstairs for a feed. That just about sums up my Bank Holiday. Hope you all have a good day.,and those who have to work never mind at least the weather is foul so your not missing a day at the beach
Cheers folks0 -
