Good Morning All
Thanks for all your well wishes yesterday - did have a lovely time at the RHA -DD def enjoyed the experience altho all the kids seem so blase about it - they take everything in their stride.
Well horrendos (sp) weather here which isnt nice for a Bank Hol - though I have to secretly admit that is suits me as I need to get loads of work done for a meeting with our client on Wed - cutting a long story short he wants us to do more work for less money and are profit margins have been reducing over the last couple of months anyway. I am dreading it as he is to put it honestly a nasty man. Anyway I cant wait for it to be over and done with as it really has been hanging over my head this last week.
So looks like will be a lazy chill in the house day for everyone (but me) but the kids could do with it as we had a late night.
AussieLass - I am so so jealous what a beautiful view I wouldnt get much OS done with that on my doorstep I would just be out there all the time.
Well going to go and get dressed now, have Gammon in the slowcooker for tea and before I start my paperwork need to do yet more ironing.
Hope you have a good day all.0 -

I'll be thinking of you (confident, self assured, calm and assertive) and sending positive vibes. Good luck!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Morning all,
Were having our hallway stripped this weekend so its been hard to clean anything. I will just have a quick hoover in a mo and a straithten up and that will do.
Its is my mums and MIL's b day tomorrow and FIL's on thursay  so OH and I need to get into town later for a few bits, cards are already posted to MIl's, got my mums present, need to arrange flower delivery to MIL and think of something to post to FIL!!! My mind is blank.
Weather here is rubbish so we didn't go to the boot fair, we got to one yesterday and I picked up 5 books for a £1 and a record for 50p!
Breakfast - Coco pops
Lunch - Sandwhich
Dinner - No idea yet
Have a lovely bank holiday everyone,

Perhaps if I sneak in from the back no one will notice me as this is my first post on OS. Feeling good today as the sun and blue skies are out and the WM is on the 3rd load. I'm glad the weather has improved here as my mum is selling homemade cakes at a local May Fair today for Kidney research. Well whatever the weather I hope everyone has a good day
....now I'm just going to quietly slip out.......

Morning all,
Vicky i am really sorry to hear about your Grandpa bug hugs to you
Been really busy in the Funky house today. It is my DS 4th Birthday.
He has been busy unwrapping pressies and he is now playing with them.
We had planned on going to the zoo but the weather is way to bad for that.
DS asked for pancakes for breakfast and has asked for duck in rolly things for tea, which means a chinise.
Hope you all have a lovely day.0 -
moggins wrote:Does anyone know why a whole tray of tomato seeds are doing nothing at all? I'm really not very impressed with Wilko's seeds this year.
Nothing at all? Hrm. I've had tomato plants grow from seeds both bought and scooped from salads, but my experience with Wilko's garden stuff is mainly from the small plants. My Wilkos lettuces did pop up then die, come to think of it
Are they in small pots, well-drained and with plenty of sunlight? My seedlings love a warm sunny windowsill - works like a mini greenhouseAnd with a clear propagator lid on they pop up very quickly. I found some seeds called Sub-Arctic Plenty on eBay - tomatos designed for colder climes, and they're very happy indeed. I accidentally put them outdoors too early (it's been mild in Tyneside) and they didn't bat an eyelash. My mini brocolli aren't doing anything at all, though, and are wilting completely
Back on-topic, I made a banana loaf yesterday with 6 grotty reduced bananas (15psworth) and it went very nicely. Just finished two slices for breakfast!0 -
Morning
Well I hope all the usual insomniacs slept ok last night, cos last night has demonstrated that I will sleep through anything. When I woke up this morning I found I had fallen asleep (and slept a healthy 8 hours) with the TV and main bedroom light on, fully clothed including my specs, ON TOP OF half a bag of jelly sweets and the remote controls for the TV and video, twisted up in a very odd position with the duvet half on top and half underneath, and with my head nowhere near the pillow. Must have nodded off the moment the snooker finished (very, very late) without having had a chance to put myself to bed properly!
Naturally given the odd position, I am in a certain amount of muscular pain this morning! Tonight if the snooker looks like going on late, I'll at least get me dressing gown on...
VickyA - so sorry to hear your news :grouphug: (however if your grandpa was as much of a chatterbox as he sounds, he's probably now entertaining an audience elsewhere!) He's so lucky to have had all his faculties right to the end - sounds like a pleasant enough way to go, especially for those who had to be there at the end.
PP - I think various problems with the new-style site are currently affecting some people but not others. I'm always doing what you do - copying a long post I've just written in case it crashes while I'm posting, as well as cutting and pasting bits within my posts, and haven't had any problems - so Queenie I don't think it's a copyright safeguard as you suggested
Another question for PP - I think I remember you saying your OH and DD were off to a boot sale - where?
And yet another one for PP - if you do fancy having me over for that cuppa, PM me to suggest a good time and tell me your addressTomorrow am, Wednesday pm, or Thursday pm are probably the best times for me.
Essex-girl - did you manage to find an OK place to eat yesterday?
Ticklemouse - glad the party went well - Happy Birthday Mouseling No.1!. My sister's birthday is also today, although she's 25 not 7
Happy birthday also to FunkyFairy's DS.
AussieLass - your view is gorgeous! (So is your grandson)
Right, I'm going to get properly dressed and sorted out now. Two tasks on today's list are: Watch the snooker. De-bombsite my bedroom (which is my main living area) which currently looks like the worst kind of student hovel and I can hardly see the floor  I gave up on it a week or so ago, thinking - I'll just sort it out during my week off!
If weather stays nice (and it seems to be, here - maybe the weather reported by Shez, Essex-girl and JackieO is contained to the east of here) I might pop out later for a walk in the park. We have such a nice local park (a proper big one with a boating lake and sports courts) and I hardly ever get around to enjoying it! EDIT: humph, I think I spoke too soon, there are grey clouds rolling in from the east!
Edited to say WELCOME willow girl :hello: :hello: :hello:
See you later
