    Thanks for the compliment r.mac.

My cooking tends to be "done by eye" and is a bit hit and miss but usually edible. Funnily enough it seems better when I just sling stuff together rather than follow a recipe slavishly.

Are you Scottish too? I moved to england 24 years ago.

    Hello nuttyrockeress!

Cooooool, bet that's great driving with the top down!!!

My boyf has got a mini which I drive:p and this Sunday is the London to Brighton Mini run which will be ACE!!!:j

It's great fun! Nothing like wind through your hair. Plus it's a great way of finding wild garlic, you can smell it a mile off!

Spoken like a true Old Styler!

I don't drive, but I do love open topped cars. My dad used to have a little red classic MGB (or a "mid life crisis" as the rest of us preferred to call it :D) which was great fun to ride in. My sister has a Mini Cooper convertible, and one of my friends has a fab little Smart Roadster - she gave me a lift in it on the first hot day of last year, and it was ace :D

Have woken up a bit now and am actually being quite productive at w**k - and on a Monday morning too! Wonders will never cease! I have various bits of work which HAVE to get done today, and I need to sneak in a bit of time to make a meal plan too - one of the few items on my weekend "to do" list which didn't actually get done.

    See you later
    Rzl xx

    Afternoon

Have managed to do some reading for the next Essay. OH has done some of his course also and he has just nipped to bank to pay some cheques in from Ebay and post a letter.

I switched my mobile to the Easymobile keeping existing number. Someone recomended me from here and for £1-I received £31 of credit:D :D:D Its just 5p a text too, which is what I mainly use it for and if not used within 3 months they charge 75p a month. Have worked out that this credit should last me about 5-6 months.

<edited Forum Team 2> sorry but you can not request people to PM you on the forum <edited>

Phoned Barclays and they have received OH's re-newal quote for the car Ins, so a cheque for £50 (price match and £50 bonus) should be in post within the next 3 weeks.

Had a phonecall from a charity local to us for DD which DD has been a member for about 2 years. Shes partially sighted and they have offered DD & OH an all-inclusive day in Margate in June. It has been organised by another local charity and they have 50 places and DD was lucky enough to be offered a place:j They take them to Margate by Taxi, stop at service station and they pay for a drink and snack. They have a police escort from service station to Margate and are met by the mayor:eek: then they are both given a lunch and pocket money (£10-not OH though..LOL) and are given a prepaid wrist band for the large amusement park Dreamland there (used to be called BinBon brothers or something?) then they have a dinner and disco in the evening and then bought home by Taxi again. I really cant believe it, plus OH is happy as he gets to go too. Its not costing a penny! While she was on the phone, she asked OH if he liked Golf.....errr yeah, and she asked if he wanted to go next Friday as theres a local carers group of 10 dads playing 9 holes and then have a Fish & Chip dinner at the clubhouse at a special rate of £5. He is so happy!! He's never been to this particular course before, as its an exclusive club and normally £35 for a round:eek:

Its been a good day here today;) it has started to rain though:rolleyes:

    Hugs to all.

  • Good afternoon :j

Sat here at work with not a lot to do  It's my own fault, I've worked like a fiend all morning  Never mind it's only an hour and 20 mins till I finish

DH has taken his gym kit to work today, so he can go straight to the gym from work - so I'm not expecting him home till 8.00pm (not used to that - he's normally home by 4.00pm (pre new job)) Oh well - we'll see how it goes, hopefully it will spur me into becoming a domestic goddess - waddya think :rotfl:

Tomorrow night I'm getting my Tesco wine order, £43 for 12 bottles inc delivery - thanks to the OP who posted the £10 off voucher :D

I suppose I'd better go and do some work - bye for now

BTW P-P Great news for your DD and DH - sounds like they'll have a ball!
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Me and my boyf are doing the mini run on Sunday, I think we are starting near Crystal Palace and we will have to leave here (East Sussex, nr Brighton) at about 5.30am/6am to get there. I know that we have to pick up a pack and these are available from 7am!! But I'm sure that there'll be loads of minis arround for most of the morning. It's crazy really as we are effectively doing Brighton to London to Brighton mini run!:rotfl:

    Hello everyone

It's a cold, grey and wet day here, so washing is hung on the rads - which are on :) Been to mum's and cleaned top to bottom - it's her 70th on Sunday and as part of the celebrations, we are having an 'open house' on Sunday afternoon - so house had to be spick and span. Will just need a vac on Sunday - which lil sis can do as she's staying there.

My house needs a good tidy! DS2's room has been trashed - accidentally mainly as he knocked his table containing his train set over, which knocked lots of other stuff over. Need to clean spare room as had guest staying over. Want to shampoo the carpets downstairs, but as it's DS2's 4th birthday on saturday and his party is at home (it's given rain) I don't think I'll waste my time on it yet :D

Have a boot load of stuff for the recycling cntre - mum said "would you just take X, Y and Z?" Well - you just have to don't you.

I was going to say so many individual things - but I've forgotten half of them now :( However, PP - what a wonderful treat for DH and DD - and how lovely for you two to have had a relaxing and 'normal' afternoon together, snuggling :D

Shez - I have a Davina dvd - I keep meaning to try it........ one day I'll have the time and the inclination at the SAME TIME
